Ok, I guess riding season is finally over. :(

I almost put the bike away yesterday but thought maybe I'd get one more decent riding day... dammit. This bums me out every year.

Yeah, but I'm mostly a commuter. Melting leads to puddles which lead to ice which is not a good surprise in the dark. I'll leave it out for a few more days, maybe get a quick ride in over the weekend or something.

I must have missed the memo. I just rode home, plan to ride to class again tomorrow, and the next day....

Just enough of a dusting to make my S2000 fairly useless... I can't even imagine what the zx6r would be like.

Re: Ok, I guess riding season is finally over. :(

    Mine ended on Saturday.

I coulda pushed it, but with no heated gear it was kind of a PITA to deal with layering up. Especially because I never stayed at places long enough to undress, and/or they never had a place for me to hang up my coat and my stuff.

Hopefully next winter I'll have electrics. (And hopefully a bike that can power them)

I happen to have some stuff out of the garage that I'd like to put back in after the bike, too... so laziness is a factor as well.

When's the best time to find a deal on heated gear? I hate paying full price for anything.

I've never seen heated gear on sale. It might be out there, just have never seen it. Maybe someone would be selling used gear to upgrade to Gerbing microwire.

That is why I go to the track to just ride.

Re: Ok, I guess riding season is finally over. :(

I saw a Firstgear heated liner in my size for $100 at Moto Cafe once... should have jumped on it. At the time thought the SV couldn't handle it.

Speaking of the SV, it's officially in the garage. But really I could just pull it down off the stands, unhook the battery charger and ride... it's not like it takes hours of work, I don't pull the spark plugs or anything.

haha -- nope, sticking with the gear I have. Browsing CL lately, I've seen some used heated gear for sale, tho.

I added up my full complement of heated gear, First gear jacket liner, pants, and gloves, and Tourmaster insoles, all comes to 170 watts if cranked full on. The gloves are only 30w, so I might use them alone on my KZ550.

Re: Ok, I guess riding season is finally over. :(

Interesting topic. Just came back from shoveling the snow around my parked motorcycles (under top of the line covers). Plan to ride tomorrow around noon since I have the day off and it is supposed to be sunny. I am actually thinking of upgrading my heated jacket liner and dual controller to microwire/dual control...may put my liner up for sale in the next few days. I also get bummed...haven't ridden since Friday! PMS (Parked Motorcycle Syndrome) is horrible!

During the day, light traffic, I'll totally ride in winter. At night, in Boston traffic, I don't think so.
