Thank-you for all your opinions.
I am going with the Helds or the Helimots. I have seen the helds and I like them, but the helimots look very comfortable also. If the helimots have a nice thin palm of Kangaroo for good throttle feel, i will go with them.
derek
The Helimot's have a nice thin palm for good feel, and no rivets. The big difference between the two is whether you want hard knockle protection, and the rivets in the palm. I would say the quality is very similar. Helimot used to sell the held gloves until they developed their own.

Kushitani...my next buy! Met Kushitani San at the NY show this year. He sat me down and showed all the components to the glove design. Same price as the Helds and very comfortable. I'd go that route.

AGV have lots of good stuff chep on ebay
Looks like a nice street glove, but I'll be doing 10-15 track days this year and probably not more than 100 street miles, so I'm looking for something in the upper quality/price range.Originally posted by urudufusmisrael

I spoke with Kushitani-San in NY also. While I like their gloves, Kushitani is a leather goods manufacturer, Held is a GLOVE manufacturer. I really think that while the Kushitanis are great quality, Ii think their stuff is about 20-30% overpriced for what it is.
I'll revisit Kushitani and evaluate their glove again, but I really think the Helds or Helimots are the way i will be going.

Degs. Have you found a local retailer for all of the manufacturers?
I am also in the market for new gloves as my last set of Violator Pro's from 2yrs ago are in use. Does any one know if the new Voilators have the same fit as the old ones??
Gerard
Degs, I picked up my Held's yesterday and they felt great from the first moment I put them on. No real breaking in time needed as I rode with them all day with no issues of discomfort.
my GP Pro's are in the mail, i'll let cha know what I think.

I have a set of Held Galaxy's. They're very nice, but my only peeve with them is the way the guantlet is designed - it's rather long and somewhat narrow, and I find that sometimes my jacket tends to "push the glove off" because of the gauntlet. But, as far as protection goes - I'm sure a truck could run over my hand while I'm wearing those and my hand would be fine.
As far as other brands go, I REALLY like Spidi gloves - it's the only brand that fits my hands as if they were custom made for me - and I found that all their gloves are comfortable out of the box without needing break-in.
I found the same with Spidi. They run small, so try one size bigger than you normally buy. I was impressed with the build quality too. Lasted two year doing race AND street duty. two or three crashes in there for good measure. I replaced them with a newer model, but the fit wasn't as stellar.
I have a pair of teknic speedstar and love them. all kango too, check them out
