    Ride report: our 2000 mile trip to Virginia

    Yeah Faith and I are totally addicted to traveling by bike now; we're already thinking about next year's trip, and are planning to go moto-camping again this weekend in upstate New York.

    It's a great way to see the country.

    Yeah it is. Very curvy; lots of hairpins and sweepers. Nothing real tight and technical though, and like I said, it's not a place for knee dragging.

    Skyline Drive becomes the Blue Ridge Parkway at Rockfish gap, for another 400 miles of mountain riding. The speed limit on the BRP is up to 45, and for the most part it's even more twisty. There are plenty of hairpins and long decreasing radius turns. IMO, stuff that's superfun even at 45mph.

    Lots and lots of wildlife though. We encountered deer and wild turkeys in the road a couple of times.
