Aquinnah has some hilly road (State Rd by the looks of it on the map) that seems like it could be a bit of fun. not much for twisties of any kind out there. I spent a summer over there back in college before I had a bike. I think it would be a funny place to putt around on a bike for a day or 2 though. As far as other stuff the only non dry town is Oak Bluffs if memory serves and Circuit Ave is where all the nighttime stuff happens. Edgartown is nice if you aren't drinking and you can try to pick out the places from Jaws. Some nice little shops on Main St in Vineyard Haven.

probably for the best. Get outside the bluffs and all of a sudden cops have nothing better to do. how are you getting over? slow boat out of woods hole? if so take a detour through falmouth by going down main st instead of going straight down woods hole rd. when you get to the intersection by the library looking at the white hen take a right to go down to surf drive beach. after the sharp right at surf drive follow the road until you can go no further and then take a right. You will basically be in the steam ship parking lot. that is one of the nicest routes on the cape. it is short but it is really scenic and twisty as hell. watch out for sand.

I lived there for 13 summers , your best riding will be up island W.Tisbury, Chilmark, Gay Head ( Aquinnah now ).

State Rd to North Rd loops and Lambert's Cove Rd are the best.

We used to ride on the State Forest roads ( they are paved) but these days that would get you a trip to the white house in Edgartown.( The Jail )

Remember the highest speed limit on the island is 45 mph most being 30 or 35 and the police ticket heavily in the summertime.

hmm...so would this be well suited for a small dirt bike, if made street legal?

My XR200R gets to about 5th gear just go get to cruise ~35-40mph

do NOT take the lil ferry crossing to chappaquiddick. Would've been cool on a dual sport or dirt bike...sucked on a regular street bike. Def kick it with other locals on Circuit ave, parked next to a group of local bikers and they were a hoot to chat with.
