    Running late for Bike Night?

Mass. man accused of topping 120 mph on motocycle: Rutland Herald Online

So if anyone was wondering, Vermont State Police will pursue 120 MPH. Apparently charged with "excessive speed, negligent operation and attempting to allude (sic) an officer after police say he was riding his motorcycle in excess of 120 mph."

No info given on bike make or model.

Until they lose sight of you, from what I read. I don't condone it but if he did a better job hiding sounds like he would of got away.

I'm like so sure it wasn't a GSXR.

He should have parked it once in Bratt.

HOLY SHIT, WE'RE ALL AT RISK, WHAT A MENACE

of him showing off his literary memory

i wonder why they spelled it right later on? anyways, i dunno why everyone's flipping out that he exceeded speeds of 120mph. figure your average modern (last 2-3 years) 600 can get from the legal speed limit to 120 and back again in what, maybe 6-7 seconds? it might not be a smart thing to do, but with discretion i really don't think it's all that colossal a detriment to society...

^ has to do with the newspaper flipping out, not the facts of the case.

I would multiply that time by 3.

you really think it's that long? long being the operative word, lol. i'm not sure how fast the supersports are, but they're probably slower than my guess and faster than yours (provided they're in the powerband). i'd say my bike can get from 60-120 in less than 18-21sec, and i'm willing to bet that they can outaccelerate me as well as brake back to 60, making up the difference.

~12sec is a lot of time at WOT, and that's being conservative with saying the 120-60 takes 8 seconds...

I missed the "from the legal speed limit" part of your post and thought you meant 0-120-0. At the drag strip I had an accidental excursion into the low 140's and it was still a little over 10 seconds. I know one thing for certain: A 600 with me on it won't go 60-120-60 in 6 seconds. I need a few more cubes.
