I just picked up my 06 SV and boy do I love it! Everything about the bike excpet the grundle-crushing seat is perfect.
SO, I was wondering if anyone knew of any shops in MA that did custom re-upholstering on motorcycle seats. Many people have told me it's a cheaper (and usually just as effective) as getting a Corbin or Sargent seat.
Thanks all!

I just happen to talk to the guy who has a shop behind where I live he says that he can definitely do it and I kno whe has been doing upholstrey for a long time, I'm considering having my seat redone.
I'm out in Ayer, a bit far from you, though.

There is a guy in Palmer, too.

The drive out to Ayer is no big deal, I just want to see what the guy can do. When will you have your seat done?

You can try Just-Rite auto upholstry in Everett, I think that's their name. Another person to call is Bob's Auto Body in Revere. Bob Bolognese is a highly accomplished custom harley builder, I don't know if he would do it or not but he may have someone in the shop that would do it or could give you a name.
Have you tried the Suzuki gel seat? I have one on my bike and I have zero complaints. Others swear that it's terrible. Its the only seat I've ridden on so I can't compare it. You are welcome to give it a sit sometime, I'm up in that area often. (It would be an excuse me to go get some good Mexican food over there in Day Square!)

I have not tried any seat but stock so far. I may take you up on that Gel seat offer. I can get that seat plus the monoposts cowl for less than the cost of a corbin or sargent.
Where do you live exactly? Shoot me a PM or e-mail me.

I just got rid of my Corbin at the rally last week.
My complaint with the Corbin is that it slides your
butt backwards which then makes you put more
weight on your hands. Your wrists get sore and
the hands get numb. I have the S model. For someone
that has the nekkid model, it would be perfect. The S
ergos for someone my size will not work.
I did sit on a couple of Sargents and they did feel good
but they are a lot of money.
I ended up ordering a gel seat from Oneida Suzuki in NY. I got a pretty good price and it should be here quickly.
I'll report back with what I think about it...

No worries man, I appreciate your help!
The gel seat arrived today and I've logged about 20mi thus far. It's not bad, but not great so far. I'll give it a few more days before I decide...
