I had a bad night tonight. i tried to to a left hand turn way to fast and lowsided the bike. (08 zzr600) I'm have a slightly scraped knee but thats it thanks to my jacket and gloves. the bike however has seen much better days. I low sided it on the left side and then it slide into a 6" granite curb and fliped onto the median.
both left, right and front plastics are done. headlights are cracked. left engine cover almost ground threw. thats the cosmetic crap which shouldnt be to expensive
what i'm worried about is the suspension and frame. i know boths rims are done and now I had to keep the bars turned slightly to go straight :-(. also my chain is now tight on the bottom and loose on top? so i'm worriad about the Swing arm.
Calling my insurance in the morning . . I kinda hope its not totaled but there are some pretty good deals on nicer bikes now.

Sounds totalled. Glad you are unhurt for the most part.
thanks lauren
i'm still pissed about it but i just spotted a couple sweet deals on bikes this time of year one particularly nice 636 sheppo has for sale ;-)
Damn Dan! Sorry, to hear about your crash but I'm glad you are OK.
glad that you are ok, and good luck with the insurance. it sounds totaled to me, but as the nail in the coffin, is there any marks on the frame?
Glad you're not seriously hurt! Sheppo should have some great "blowout prices" very soon if not now! Good Luck!
It sounds pretty toasted. Not sure what you're on, but plastics & cosmetics can get pricey. Glad you're okay though...
Did you grit your teeth and try to look like Clint Fuckin' Eastwood?
Or did you lisp it all hangfisted like a fuckin' flower?
That sucks Dan... Sorry to hear about your get off, I'd say it's definitley totalled.. like i was saying in JRhino's thread... My crash last year had less than half that damage and it was totaled, (one front rotor, clip on's, front fairing, headlight) I bought it back from the insurance company and sold it and the kid fixed it like new for $1,200.. thats including a total aftermarket body kit.
The insurance adjuster guy said they are a dime a dozen and 85% of the time they are just totaled!
someone told me it was going to be like $300 bucks too, i paid $1,200 for mine. not sure if it was because there wasn't a crap load of damage??
i wish i got mine for $300, if it is i'd definitely buy it back and either track it, stunt it, or sell what's left in good condition.

ya i'm pretty sure its totaled i'll put up some pics if i can find my camera.
the frame actually doesn't have a scratch on it. i think i might be able to revive it if i put a little work into it. the forks actually dont look bent just might be out of wack.
Sounds totaled to me

I crashed my 08 gsxr 750 broke nothing but all the plastics and mirrors, bike ran fine. Totaled. I can imagine the fact it was covered in mud helped me too. I ended up with a 09 gsxr 750 for 12 dollars more a month then I was paying for the 08. The adjuster won't drive it, so if you wanna push for it being totalled and you rode it home from the accident, tell him it doesn't track straight and the brakes felt squishy.![]()
i couldnt ride it home lol the rear wheel is pratically square and the forks are defintely not right
sorry to hear man but welcome to the club
