I have this CRF450R. Does anyone have the details on how to make it street legal. I know the basics but if you have heard of a good kit and more importantly paperwork bullshit. How many hoops do i gotta jump through?
Thanks for any guidance here.....![]()
if i get my plate tomorrow, i would be happy to coach you.
You will in turn have to coach half the people you interface with on your journey's, cause when you show up with the right forms and paperwork and money... they will still look very confused.

you are better off getting the parts not a kit because the kit dosn't come with a stator and the head light is lame. I head light is very dim, in the kit like the one from baja designs. the two major parts are the wheels and the stator every thing els is not that much money.
no regrets!!! life is just too short

ok pal ya ready... for NH...
Process:
Get CO/MSO
Make Bike street legal (lights and signals)
Take bike to inspection shop, have them generate a special note/letter stating it is street legal.
Take MSO, letter of legality, notice of any lien releases etc to City Hall for title app and reg.
leave with plate, install on bike, ride!
easy right?!
Details:
Start with the bike papers... you do have the MSO right?
If you got it from a dealer you should be good, if not, make sure the sellers signature is notarized on the bill of sale.
Bike equipment:
Minimum DOT stuff.... headlight, horn, 1 brake light, tail running light and mirror
Now KB managed to get his on the street with a squeeze horn and no signals, not all shops will let the "no-signals" fly. the horn should be fine anywhere ya go though.
To be like a real street bike... you need both brakes switches, electric horn, signals/flasher circuit, battery, charging system, plate light, parking lights.
there are so many details... it could take a long time to explain all the possibilities...
pm me with any specific questions you got.
