Just finished up a restoration project on a 73' GT750. Not show quality but a clean mechanical sound and great running bike.
Been through the motor, carbs, tran, clutch, brakes and electrical. Lots of new OEM parts, fresh factory painted tins and frame and new badges. Chrome is original in good shape. I was looking for new stock pipes, but they only used this style in 72'-73' so the are impossible to find. Took me 6 months to find replacement end cones. The only major change I made is I went with a European spec handlebar instead of the ape style American bars.

The water buffalo lives again!!! I can tell by the graphic on the tank that you know what I mean. Got to love an old smoker. You did one hell of a job. Absolutely excellent.
Beautiful job on the restoration! One of my high school friends had one of those, rode the hell out of it, never had any issues. Another friend had a Kawi H2 that I commandeered frequently to raise hell around town. The audio in your video brings back a lot of fond memories, thanks for recording it. Those 2 stroke triples just wanna GO !

nice work! someday i hope to piece together an old kz. no 2 strokes tough. from what i have read about them the motor is way more than the chassis can handle!
That is a very nice daily rider! It is interesting that this was Suzuki's "Touring" bike back then. I saw one with aftermarket chrome expansion chambers, which probably wake up that motor quite a bit.
I knew I shouldn't have sold it!!
Good to see you have done it justice, nice build and yes, those original bars had to go!
Was everything good inside the motor? I thought it all sounded tight but never delved inside.
Whats next??
Nice water buffalo!
Yep, I'm 45 and had an RD 350B in undergrad so CONGRATS on that.
Funny how similar the Water Buffalo looks to the RE-5, remember that!!!

Outstanding!! Love the old stuff. Eddie's Vintage Motorcycles in Swanzey NH rt 10 has a barn full of all kinds of cool bikes like this.
Wow that is a great restoration! Let me know when you are going riding on it. Now that is a bike I'd love to ride behind.

Big Draggo;
Nice job on that restore. I brought my water buffalo back to life once (bought it for $100 in 1996) but I can't find the time to get it back on the road. Kids and all that stuff have gotten in the way. I want to make sure it goes to a good home. It is way better than a parts bike but will do for that. It's a 1974 ~9000mi. This thing was a ridiculously fun ride when I had it running. Are you ready for your next project or know someone that is ?
How much do you want? I sold the one pictured and kind of regret it sometimes!
Very cool man thats sweet.
Ride On,
Todd W.
Always said a ported out one of those was the fastest thing I ever road including a pro=stock bike
very nice job and follow the smoke
Sweet! Beautiful water buffalo. I love the sound of a two-stroke triple.
God, I would love to have one of these to ride around Burlington and leave all the fucking hippies and Prius drivers in a big blue cloud of two-smoke.
