Interested in what you guys have done to any SV650's or 1k's. I've always had a love affair with them and have been considering selling my TLR for one and throwing the extra cash into it.
Post away.....
oops, mod please move to general bike section
Keira has a 650s, all we have done is full fairing kit and yoshi carbon exhaust, pretty nimble little bite, i love the way it handles, also a big fan of the TLR.

Other than the LED flushmounts and the Holeshot exhaust, you can't see my mods, but I can feel 'em!
I ain't trading this bike in for another ...
She still has a lot to teach me and everytime I get on her she gives me a grin!
Been out of riding for 18 years and I am soooo glad someone
steered me away from a 1000cc's to this sweetheart of a bike!
I may upgrade in the future, but I am keeping this baby for a track bike when I retire her from the street.
My latest mod are dents & road rash!!
no pics of the carnage

Surprisingly enough Suzuki. When Keira Bought her bike we researched and found that the dealer made thos fairings for it and we were able to have those financed as well. They had to order them or else they would have put them on for us for free too, but i did that and it wasn't hard.
Hey, that's MY bike.Originally posted by IanfromMA

do you have a better picture of the headlight assembly? and i can't find any info on the suzuki website about the kit...how much does it cost roughly?
It's an SV 650S. The last S stands for Sport (i.e. not nekkid). It came like that from the factory. I know you can get the sport assembly, but I don't have any idea how much it costs. My avatar has the headlight in it.

oooo, so thats the new svs fairing then? biiiiig improvement over the last one. i'm working out a plan. its 4 stages
1. msf
2. POS
3. SV650
4. svs fairing
just gotta start doing some landscaping soon and i'll be on my way!
strange though....the suzuki website only has the upper fairing...i'm assuming the lower fairing costs extra. i hate the look of it without the bottom half. its either street fighter or sportbike, not a mut!
I'm not a fan of the naked look, but I love how the SV rides, so I got the sport. It only comes with the upper fairing, but you can order the full fairing, which is what I did (and had the cost rolled into my loan). I think it was an additional $400 or so. Rather than buying the 650 naked and all the parts later, I say buy the sport. After the new headlight housing and the fairings, you'll end up spending more than if you just buy the sport to begin with.

Unless they drastically changed it on the 03+ SVs you would not want to convert a naked SV to an SVS.
I looked at it when I had an 01 Naked SV and it was fairly ridiculous, you had to change a ton of stuff. You're better off just getting the S model right from the start.
e.x. to give you an idea:
Fairings
Headlights
Turn signals
Dash
Associated electronics
Different handlebar (clip-ons)
Different master cylinder and other associated items to work on the clip ons and clear the master cylinder
Different brake lines since they are different lengths
Redo the throttle & clutch cables
All said and done even if you do all of it yourself you spent more then what Suzuki charges to just buy the correct bike to start.
Can't make up your mind, buy two ... one nekkid and one faired.

They are a good cheap bike ... dunno if my second one will be a road SV1000 or another 650 track beater

I had one on my 323 when I got it. I know it is a play on the Jeep thing stickers, which is why it is funny. That car couldn't be any further from a Jeep.![]()
