What is the difference? Same company, different jackets with similar features it seems.
I'm thinking about the Cortech Accelerator, Cortech ADX and the Tour Master Advantage Sport. Leaning towards the ADX currently, but I haven't seen any of them in person yet.
This is what I am looking for:
Replacement to my current Joe Rocket Ballistic 3/4 Jacket. I wouldn't mind another 3/4 but could consider a normal length jacket if it keeps me warm enough.
Needs to be waterproof.
Needs to be warm. Breathability and ventalation is second to warmth. This will be my winter jacket and poor weather jacket for the next 3 or so years.
Needs at least two good sized pockets.
Needs some type of armor.
Any opinions/advice/other recommendations?
I heard the Kilaminjaro 3.0 is decent, but I haven't been able to find one in my size to try it on. Then again, I looked for half an hour once last year and haven't thought about it since.

Bras cause cancer.
Yes it is, but they have two product lines. The Cortech line and the Tour Master line. Look on the website, it's odd really. I think the Cortech stuff uses the Cortech material?
I dunno, I like the cortech ADX.
Does anyone else recommend a different jacket?

I think the Cortech is their marketing way of saying this is our better stuff. I've seen some of it in person and was pretty impressed for the money. It is made of actual Cordura. It seemed better than the Joe Rocket stuff, I had the Ballistic 3.0 and wish I bought the Cortech instead after seeing it. I was never happy with the JR Ballistic and sold it on ebay.
My parents have Cortech stuff from about 6 years ago. The stuff is still mint. While they don't ride nearly as much as I do, it's impressive thickness of the material that really turns me on to the Cortech stuff.
Hmmm, Accelerator or ADX....
Does anyone know if MM carries these? Their website has a jacket and pant section that has been down since last fall. Their webmaster needs to be fired in the most expensive way possible.

Agreed. Cortech = Tour Master = marketing
We've got quite a collection of Tour Master / Cortech items, from dirt gloves to boots to pants & jackets. So far everything has held up very well, and their designs are usually quite functional and effective. I wouldn't depend on 100% water-proofness, but the stuff's an excellent value. The latest items we purchased are a pair of Cortech GX Sport jackets. These items seem to be well thought-out designs and markedly improved over prior versions.

Thanks Chris, I didn't know of anyone with the newer generation, so your input helps and is appreciated.
Now 3/4 length or normal, that is the question....hmmmm....

Check out the Rev'It gear at MM... I've been seriously eyeing their airflow jacket.

new enough.com had the Courtech Advanced 3/4 for
clearance at $129. But qty limited.
I got one, its pretty decent. Its not Dainese or RevIt for fit, style and innovation but its good rugged well thought out gear.
Just got one in silver/black.
Just orded the Advanced on sale at NewEnough.com. $129!!!!
Thanks Akira!!!!!

Cortech is Tourmasters higher end line, uses thicker fabric, better armor and zippers, yada, yada. I just sold one I bought in 1998 and after about 90,000 miles (and one get off) it was still in good shape except the zipper crapped out so I went and got a new one.
I may still end up getting the Cortech jacket, just in a normal length. The price on the Tourmaster Advanced was too good to pass up so I jumped on it. It can be my KLR jacket and the normal length one could be for street/zrx type riding.
