Trade the 998 for a Hyper?

I am really hating the idea of getting rid of the 998 but with my recent 748 Purchase I just might have to look into this a little more.

I think I will take a ride down to Cyclewise tomorrow. :

Well the 916-996-998 or even 748. Basically that body style.

I am thinking I need to go to a Sport Tourer like an ST3.

I have a 450x motard, the Hawk can be streeted for canyon strafing, the 748 can also be streeted... Ya see what I am saying?

The ST3 is a good bike given your stated goals. It'll strafe the twisties, handle two up beautifully, great for distance riding and slabbing it etc. It's only shortcoming in my mind is it's not small / light enough for just mobbing around on errands / etc. If you're going to go out and RIDE it's great, if you're doing short jaunts go for the Hyper.

Sounds like you are describing a 2010 Multistrada 1200. But let's say you don't want to spend $20k. Instead of a Hyper, why not take a look at the Aprilia "Dorsoduro" aka smv 750. I compared it with the Hyper last year at Seacoast (but got neither).

Maybe I'll sell a few bikes and look at the Aprilia again. Add the comfort seat and yer good to go. Seacoast shows a leftover 09 in black.

And oh yeah, no more f***ing Ducati belts.

I read a comparison on the Baby Hyper and Dorsoduro. I'm just not an Aprillia guy.

Thanks. You could maybe test ride them both at a certain Piaggio dealer that gets mentioned here a lot, and judge for yourself.

if you now have the 748, why have 2 superbikes if you can afford the hyper? i would love to have one, but it would have to be a second bike, i need my superbike dose too.

If I go this route it is going to be RED. Ducati's are supposed to be RED.

st3....? get a red monster s4r or s4rs with the same motor the 996 has, but more comfy, sss, and bad-freaking-ass.
