I made the trip down to Seacoast Sport Cycle after talking with Jim last week and came home with a new toy....a 2010 Aprilia RSV4.
First off, let me say that this was by far the easiest motorcycle buying experience I have ever had. No haggling, no funny business, just straight talk. I was happy because I got a great trade in on my 848, and the price of the RSV4 was spot on in my opinion. I would highly recommend anyone looking to by a Ducati or Aprilia check these guys out.
Now, it was used, owned by a Seacoast tech. It only has 2800 miles on it with the Leo Vince GP slip on and a fender eliminator. It is bone stock otherwise. I thought about stepping up for the Factory version (which they also have at seacoast) but everything I read told me that I didn't need all the extra bits.
I got it home and took it for a quick ride and HOLY GOD is this thing quick. It has gobbs of power all through the rev range and it sounds like sex. The V4 sound though the Leo pipe is amazing. It is a bit taller than my 848 so I can barely tip-toe on flat ground but the seat is wider and more comfortable. The reach to the bars is what I think is less than the 848 and the bars seem to be up a bit higher. It seems to take a lot more effort to turn and isn't as "flickable" as my 848 was but it feels planted. I can't wait to take it for a longer ride in the nicer weather tomorrow.
I had such a big grin on my face the entire time I was riding it.
