Triumph is giving me a new bike

A few of you guy/gals have known my brand new Triumph Explorer has had some electrical issues which caused the bike to malfunction and shut down while riding it. Five times on DucDaves Covered bridge ride. Great Bay has had the bike a total of 8 weeks this summer trying to resolve the issues. Had lots of conversations with the techs at Triumph. Triumph thought it was fixed and bang, dead again. I could get very long winded and go into some of the crazy details.

I've had a few conversations with the manager of customer service of North American. Nothing was off the table getting the bikes problems solved. That included a new bike. Last Saturday the bike shutdown I called Great Bay, they came and got my bike in Seabrook on 1A.

Today I got a call from Triumph telling me they were in contact with Great Bay, they'll have a new Explorer for me. YES!

I put almost 12k miles on the Explorer even though I lost almost two months of riding time. Its a great bike, just not the one I had.

Probably Triumph trying to save themselves before something seriously happens. Could you imagine if the bike shut down at the wrong time. I think at this point, any company would replace the bike. Especially when Kenn has like 3 Triumphs currently, they want to keep him as a life long Triumph customer. I'd be impressed if Triumph gives Kenn the option of taking cash back. I would see that was less self serving.

Kenn, congrats! Do you get a choice of a diff color or anything?

I'm getting the same color and yeah brand new, better be 0 miles! A ton of accessories have to be order for the bike. I'm sure it'll take a few weeks then they'd need to be installed. So I'm thinking somewhere around Christmas.

I think you answered my question with your last sentence. It sounds like the problem is isolated to your bike only, which may have a lot to do with why they haven't been able to diagnose it correctly.

Anything electrical wont be taken off the old bike. Stuff like the Arrows, paniers, GPS mount. They can even swap the the taller windscreen. There's a lot to be done. I'm looking at it like a new bike for Christmas. Triumph sent me some accessories to compensate for the time lost on the bike. They came today, then I get a call from Triumph today about the new bike. They sent me a belly pan which I didnt need but now I need it. A heated pillion seat. I had a heated riders seat which they'll have to order a new one.
My bike was the Launch Model which had a lot of accessories installed from the factory.

Good for you Ken. I've dealt with Don, Randy and them at GB Moto for years and they have been as helpful as they can be. I service/wrench my own stuff but they do stand beside the products they sell and are willing to admit "human" when things go shitty.

Good deal for you Kenn. Sounds like Triumph has their customer relations in order. Something to really think about in the future when i'm looking for a new ride. Maybe a Daytona 675?

If you read all the messages it would be pretty clear that YES, Triumph USA is really standing up for this one.

Very nice to hear, though I have had ZERO problems with my Tiger 800 roadie.

Great to hear! I was impressed with Triumph when they replaced my fuel tank after the tip over valve stuck closed, and the temperature change at night caused the tank to implode! It was covered under the emissions warranty, the bill was nearly $1,100!

Good to hear they are treating you right. I am not sure they would do this for everyone, however. It pays to be a good customer.
