a lot of IBA guys put 50k or more on in a year, in general, I think they get traded before 200k

on a big ST like the Honda ST1300, Coni, FJR etc, I'd have to put high milage at 100-125k or over

My father's bike went over 65,000 before he traded up and it was still running perfect.

Same for my dad. His Harley had over 50K when he traded it in a few months ago.

My ex wife has high mileage. She wasn't really a sport-tourer. More of a entry level model. Pun intended.

It is easy to rack up the miles on a viffer. I started this season with 4200 miles when I got it in january. I'm now up to 13600!

What bike are you talking about?

Gotta know which model and people will be able to tell you what to look for on that model.

Several people mentioned VFRs, if it is the latest generation there are between 1-4 recalls to check for, but if the bike has that kind of mileage the owner was likely on top of things.

There was one in 2007 though that is extremely important to have done, it would be nuts to be an 02+ VFR used if the owner had not had the recall done when Honda was doing it. It was dangerous (fire), and 3+ hours of labor so if you couldn't do it yourself it might kill a deal.

The rear wiring harness has never really been shown to be a real problem. It is the front wiring harness up near the dash and headlights that is a problem and was recalled. I had my recall done at about 16k miles and mine was fairly well melted through.

It was a VFR I as hoping to look at... but sold before I could.

Then someone on here PM'd me about THEIR VFR... which I ended up buying.

So... thread doesn't really apply anymore, because I know that bikes will go and serve many many miles. ... now, let's ride!
