I am traveling for business for the next 2 or so weeks... my bike has to sit in the parking lot of my townhouse for that time... so, put it up on paddock stands, or leave it on the kick stand. Thoughts?
I am a little worried I might make it easier for someone to just wheel it off, or to just steal the stands. But then again, if they really wanted the bike they'd get it either way.
Thats asking someone to take the stands. Maybe someone up by you can put in thier garage for you.

Don't worry about it. The side stand will be just fine.

No sweat on the side stand this time of year... 90º and sunny is a different story. Putting it on the paddock stands is just begging someone to steal them (or the whole bike...) Thief brain: It's on stands.... Stands are for race bikes... It must be a race bike, right? Chicks at Hampton Beach dig race bikes... YOINK!
you get the idea![]()
If you are worried about the kick stand digging in put a piece of plywood or flat metal plate, even a flatened soda can under it.
DO NOT LEAVE THE BIKE ON STANDS, UNLESS THEY ARE PIT-BULL STANDS AND YOU TELL ME WHERE YOU LIVE! I PROMISE TO LEAVE YOUR BIKE!![]()
If you can I would chain the bike to a telephone pole or large tree, even the rims of your vehicle if you are leaving that home too, also be sure to cover it up.
Best advise is to leave it in a friends garage or a storage facility. you can get a 8X5 unit for about $75 for the month max. Best security for when you go away! I have done it in the past!

RIP A.B. RIP BEET, I Ride in Leathers because I would rather sweat than Bleed...
If the bike is not covered, cover it. Lock it up with a couple of locks, whatever you can throw at it.

haha.. I just need one confirmation not to do it. I have a piece of metal for the kickstand so it won't dig in while I am gone.
I hate it when I second guess myself over stupid things..![]()
Leave it in my garage. Check your pm's.![]()
