we need to send a NESR Motorcycle dissaster relief team. start digging through rubble to pull out poor buried bikes... we get to keep the rescued bikes though. i'd happily spend afew days digging through dangerous, crumbling debris if it means i can have a 1930s AJS or something.

What a fucking waste... As cool as a collection of bikes like that is, sights like that where they're left for "dead" really piss me off. It's like someone abandoning an art museum & letting billions of dollars worth of priceless art disintegrate.

Re: Wow. That is alot of bikes.

Hmm, this sounds like a potential road trip. Didn't really see too much valuable stuff in the pictures though, kinda wonder what's really in there. The guy said he had tons of pre-WWII stuff, if true then those machines are pretty valuable regardless of how rusty they are and should be gotten out of there.

I looked at the google satellite view of Lockport, NY, and it looks like that town has more than it's fair share of partially collapsed old warehouses. Must be a happening town.

You're right, it's pretty far. But think of all the other cool stuff you could do in that town... In any case if the guy's got a 1917 Harley or a 1928 Indian Scout or a Brough-Superior/Vincent/anything else that's crazy valuable then the trip would be well worth it. Actually it'd almost be worth the drive just to see the place, it looks like something out of a Mad Max movie.

Re: Wow. That is alot of bikes.

There is a place up here in Vermont that is kind of like that.

It is only a Barn full of old bikes but it makes and interesting trip.
