Demo day went well! Saw a few NESR folks there......
The cafe racer bikes were interesting.... They have a new full fairing banelli coming in....I would like to ride that one

I looked at their website, and made the ride, I have a permit, but own two motorcycles with full ins coverage. The guy from benelli was going to let me ride, he saw my bike and I told him I was looking for something newer, then the guy with all the tattoos comes by, grabs the sign up sheet and crumples it up and walks away.

They were letting the harley guys who road like crap on the bikes, one with shorts, t-shirt and sneakers I had full gear and want to buy a motorcycle and got the cold shoulder. And they wonder why they won't sell.

Looks like either aprilia or triumph will just have to take my money instead.

There must have been a comunication problem....The guy with the tats works for red streak, they would not care if you rode the bikes....They were benellis bikes!!!! Im wondering if he thought your already did the ride? Did he say since you had your permit you could not go????

yep, he never stuck around to see what was going on. I figured he only liked ape hangers and such and wouldn't care if I rode the bike into a wall (they probably would prefer that as they would get full value of bike instead of 12,999 as advertised on sale.)

It is a small market of wierdos that like bikes with no fairings. It is an even smaller one that will spend that much money on one. I thought they would let someone ride. I never got to ride, and after that I wasn't going to stick around and look at them. Oh well

WOW that's no big loss Brit T there are better bikes for the money. although they look great, have decent power but (as this is the first triple i have ridden) it needs more leg ....only 9800 or 10200 redline .... the saddle and I really mean saddle is meant for the 155 lb italian guy ... ya better wear a cup as there is no room at the tank for your junk !

there is an on /off throttle feel that could use some attention as if there is no cruising point (neutral point)in the throttle from stop light to stop light unless you're in 5th or 6th gear. The fuel injection mapping seems to have been done right but they have this gimmicy TNT button that is suppose to be a rainy day "fix" and to help start the bike didn't notice much of a difference. I tried two bikes and acceleration out of the corners seemed similar with the button on or off they claim a 30% difference in power. My buddy who was with me had a tornado that would wheel up in second but the one I rode seemed too tame. then I got on the cafe racer and the front was floating thru first and second.

if I were to race it the engine breaking would be quite annoying as it is Top Gun "he'll fly right by" strong (slipper clutch would be nice)

Exhaust note was exhasted for a triple of 1130 CC proportions and as compared to the Triumphs of today. The Benelli has an exhaust flapper that you could audibly hear like the clang of a detroit diesels rain flapper on a 8 series dozer's exhaust ....cool for the dozer not for the $16k Benelli

I made it too. I was impressed, but I haven't ridden Triumph or Ducati so I don't have much in the way or european supersports to compare to.

no monster but a 1098, ss800, an older 749, a hypermotard

I found the guys at redstreak to be real friendly and easy to get along with Eric hosted up a great shendig with burgers and dogs and hopefully I will see them at the Stafford event

my previous post is just my op-in just like the reviews in all the popular mags.

I test rode the Buell 1125R on Pocono and found it to be a great transition from the previous itterations of the XB's but a great start to a good street bike. the Benelli had a more abrupt feeling to it (almost as if they wanted to make a badass naked fighter that didn't need any mods but then ran out of time to complete the whole thing and work out the bugs said 'good enough' and shipped it) it would have to be tweaked the other way (softened) to make even a resemblance to a more user friendly and less expensive and almost overcrowded sportbike / naked sport bike for the street segment. Again just my op-in

I dont think its just your opinion.... Many folks thought they were rough around the edges....It's a start but Benelli needs to fix some of these issues to make sales take off.....
