Casual Ride to The Bean - Saturday, 10/4

Annalisa and I are going to head out to the Vanilla Bean tomorrow.

Obviously, this will be a casual pace, as I will also have my son along for the ride on his first ride on a motorcycle, EVER.

    Just taking in the scenery.

    We'll leave from the D&D at 10:30am.

Well, no takers on this, but we had a great time. Ethan (my son) did very well on the back of the 900. He looked like a football player. He had a motoX set of pads under a golf windbreaker. Unfortunately, they don't make padded jackets and pants for kids. He also had a set of motoX shin/knee protectors and high horse paddock boots, so he was pretty well protected.

Annalisa did really well. We took the long way there, rounding the Scituate Reservoir and passing Suzy-Qs. (102s - 14w - 116s - 12e - 14w - 14Aw - 169n to the Bean) And she didn't bat an eye at the speed I was riding at, which was usually 5-10 over.

Ethan loved leaning over. Is this the start of a young man's ambition to ride?

How did I miss this thread yesterday I would have went for sure.

I ended up Heading south on the R1, stopped at Razee's, stopped at my parents to see my dog, then went west to 165...got some lunch at Little Country Pizza (best pizza/sandwhich place in RI IMO) then did some exploring backroads back to my house. I think it was Escoheag Rd? I followed that for a while and it was pretty fun until it turned to dirt, I still kept going and after 5 or 6 miles it turned back to pavement again. Ended coming out on 117, then to 14 to 102
It was a pretty fun ride by myself.
When I got home, I put some new knobbies on the KTM to prepair for tomorrows adventure. I hate changing dirt tires...and my knuckles show just how much I hate it as most are missing chunks of skin

Here's a pic of Ethan set up to ride (remember, he has the motoX pads on under the wind-breaker):

Well, it was a nice ride out there, 44 is all new paved road now, not like before with the oiled sand.

I made quite the impression pulling into the "Bean" parking lot. I slowly cruised through in their gravel, perusing if anyone I knew was there with out putting a foot down. I thought I would need to do that, when 5 guys on Motards decided they would pull out in front of me in the lot. Amazing! I still didn't put a foot down.

Missed ya! But all in all, I still had a good ride.
I got the voicemail when I got home. You called 15 minutes after we had hit the road from North Smithfield. We took the long way there, so chances are you got there before we did, since we ate lunch there.

We took 44 east straight back.

chuck, can you do another one of these on Oct 18-19 or Oct 25-26.

Oct 18-19 would have to be VERY casual for me

10/19, I'll probably be in NH for DucDave's bridge ride.

Not sure about the weekend after that.
