Thoughts on a Large Gathering/Group ride

I did this a few years ago and we had a great turn out.

I am thinking about Sunday Sept 26 at this point as I have other obligations on other weekend days. Plus this give me a few weeks to do some planning.

I have a few idea's and want to keep the main meet spot where most people from around NE could at least make it there.

There would be a need for multiple group leaders and sweeps as we couldn't posssibly keep the entire group together (Last time we had 80 bikes!)

This can be something I make routes up, or just give a destination and the lead or group can decide which way to go.

Any interest in this?

Was this the one where we all met at Friendly's in Springfield? That meet spot was great considering the routes we rode (and got lost on). I vote for same meet spot and routes. Routes 8, 8A, 9, 2, 100 never get old.

My first thought would be a main Meeting spot in Keene, NH. From there jaunt over to VT eventually to rt 100 stopping for lunch probably Somewhere between Okemo, and killington.

We did the Outback on the last big ride, and even though we forwarned them they were not staffed/ready for our 80 ppl.... They still managed to be pretty successfull with us. & The food was good as always!

A few weeks ago we did a group ride and ate at the Old Mill on the Killington Access road. The food was very good and prices were decent. They could handle our group, as long as I contact them ahead of time so they are staffed and ready! I would like to give any place we decide on at least a week notice or more if possible.

I think we can do this:

First "Main" meet location in is Keene, NH (Mcdonalds on Winchester road) @ 9:30, Kickstands up at 10AM. Then off to VT.

I will have a meet location in Sutton with back roads to Keene leaving at 7AM sharp.

Lunch will be here, unless they are unable to accomidate us on this day.

If this sounds good then I will call soon and set things up with the restuarant.
