Never Been! Got that out of the way. Now. Where do all the hooligan nesrians end up coagulating so I and the missus can enjoy our first race with good company. Won't make any rides to it being local but didn't know if there was any certain "area" the regulars choose for seats. Just looking to say hello to those I've yet to meet, which are many, and for the wife to find out what my minimal internet time is spent on.
What are the rules for spectators when it comes to visiting the pit area?

Get an infield pass. Theya re $25 for the whole weekend (at least I don't think they are increasing in price) and you can go anywhere (except onto the track, obviously). There are NESR folks all over the place, but the first ones you will probably come upon are those of us in Turn 1A, right at the top of the tunnel (on the left). Rob and I usually pit right across from them in the world's largest tent (seriously, it is huge) across from the school bus.
In addition, lots of folks will be in the garages this year, but not sure which garages they will occupy..... Bring a tent and camp for the weekend. The after-races stuff is just as fun as the events themselves.

This brings up a good point.... the "NESR Racer" map needs updating

Go through the tubes, up the little hill to the infield. Everyone you see will be from NESR.

Hit the garages... Look for the two, gay looking, baby blue/argyle bikes. That's Kitt and Denno... The Moto Addiction Team. I will be the much cooler guy with the red and black SV. Stop by and say hello.![]()

Keira and I usually set up near LDR camp #1 across from the school bus. (sure hope the bus dosen't move this year, it is a landmark...
There is a resturant on site. Also 2 sets of bathrooms plus 1 in the resturant. Saturday night at Garage 7 their usually is a cookout. Turn 3 is a popular viewing spot. Also want to check out "the bowl". Attend the riders meeting. Someone usually gets balled out for late night noise. Attend the trophy presentations at each days end is fun too. Check out the parts vendors and tire guys and Garage 1 is Penquin School. Usually some handouts/pamplets around for us freeloaders. Usually there is some racebikes out for sale behind the resturant. Watchout for the ones with new speedometers because the old one wore out.

Now I see why you guys get as anxious as a queer eating a hotdog when race weekends come up. I had no idea so much other stuff went on. Looking forward to good time and wish you guys luck.
As for riding up. The wife doesn't like 2 up on my bike (but neither do I) so I either need to add a bike, have her RIDE HER OWN, or get a girlfriend that rides![]()

Me and the my old lady have lived on west side of the lake for quite a few years now. We're regulars in the stands or the bowl. Many changes over the yrs. We have taken bikes but most often we take the cage so we can pack a cooler, couple beach chairs sit on turn one. It's always been great to be able to pack a cooler and sneak in a few "drinks" and tasty vids.
We usualy take a walk down to the start/finish to watch a few, then down to 12 to watch the riders hammer it past the stands. You can get right on the fence when there buzzing by at speed which is really cool (bring some ear plugs).
Comming into and out of 12 is a great spot. 1st couple laps on turn 1 before they snake out is great too. Bowl is fun because you get some good up close looks at climbing/acceleration up over the top.
For a couple yrs they had main stands shut off which sucked, (no S/F or turn 12.. All these yrs it cost $10 ea, which was a decent deal, (considering there's no amenities in stands). If the price goes up and the main stands are closed we probably won't go very off just on principle.
Murphy says you'll catch up to Granma just before the Twisty sign.
Alcohol is allowed in the infield after racing is done, so plan accordinglyThere are also great viewing spots on the inside of the track that you just can't get to from the outside, so the pit pass is totally worth it. As for the cooler, I will strongly second bringing snacks and food to grill if you have a portable, if not Rob and I have one and will certainly let you use it, if we can figure it out (it's new to us this year).
