If you look down, you go down. That may be fun at an orgy, but it sucks on a bike
I almost went out yesterday. It was about 35 out and not much wind. If the bike wasn't piled behind so much stuff I would have done it.
I rode Monday...its was about 20 degrees going
and about 30 degrees coming home.
Felt really good after about month lay off.
0-35 MPH on a bike, ahhh..there is just nothing like it !
Coming off a red to green light, Cagers don't have a chance
off the line.
But not today.... obviously
I need to do up my 600RR like that guy in Canada and get with
the program.
I found that I get chilly under 50 degrees. I could probably work out some stuff with my gear and go a little lower without many major changes.
We did a couple group rides in December and January when the temp was in the low 30's in the morning and high 40's to low 50's in the afternoon.
Wasn't bad. Leather jacket w/ liner, sweatshirt, t-shirt, pants, thermal underwear, leather gloves, balaclava (combination neck gaiter and hood, VERY important), and helmet.
I tried glove liners on a couple rides, but I found my hands got fatigued faster.
30 degrees. Best starting out in the early morning and letting the sun warm you up on a fall day.
The balaclava is key. If you can keep the wind off of your neck and face you stay so much warmer.
I found myself heading out of the house one night at 19 degrees. I had a couple of layers on under my leather jacket and I wasn't going far--thank goodness! Coldest ride I ever experienced![]()
+1
After being able to ride a few times last week i am itching to get back out. Next week looks better.
I'll ride if it's in the 30's and dry roads
c'mon folks...
you aren't riding now? Where's that spirit ?
I rode today and yesterday. Just throw on the goretex
over pants. Also pack the bike cover.
As long as its not icy and wet or pouring I'll ride.
Its my transportation.
I'd rather have the bike depreciate with use than have it sit
still and lose value. I used to baby it, till I threw it over the curb in
turn 6. Now its just a bike.
So I as I look out the window in Boston...
I'm glad I took the car today, little white things are
falling from the sky !
Maybe its time to head out to Killington.
If theres no snow I will ride. I have ridden in 12 degree weather nevermind what was the wind chill. Not to proud of that but I did have an itch on my right hand.![]()

I will ride if it will be above 45 in the afternoon. I'll happily freeze on the way to work.
I rode the bike today and it was registering 38 outside. After about 30 mins i pussied out.
I have Gore-Tex (but nothing heated), gotta be at least 20 for me to go out. RandyO is the man with the ballzzzz here in terms of cold weather!
-20f but only when the ground is covered in snow.

i think the coldest i've even ridden was about 15 deg. with just jeans and a leather jacket... and helmet of course....
had to ride in the snow once too... that was a little scary....

Couple of weeks ago I was sick of layering up, so I got som e Gerbing heated gear. Gloves, jacket liner and socks. Now I leave and don't worry about the temp (unless there is a possibility of snow/ice).
I don't have electrics...and was told it was 32 on Hog Back yesterday...
so I suppose 40's and if I'm crazy enough to follow someone up a mountain..lower
