Not much into pics...
About 1/2 way up...
Looking down to the base...
Looking at the ski area on the east side of the hill. Which one is it again?
Ox's first trip up the Rock Pile. Hadta stop to let him rub one out...
Plenty of snow around still...
Up at the summit...
I dunno. I still think it's cool being above the clouds...
Absolute highest land in the northeast. Still not sure what exactly 'the northeast' covers...
Ugly bastige. Don't think he realized it, but the dude behind us taking his pic said it was going in some rag. He was gonna take a pic of Danny & me, but we set Ox up without him knowing...
Wow...awesome scenery...I'm jealous.
That's wildcat on the other side ofthe street.
The latest I was snowboarding up there was on July 23 (1998 I think). I have the pictures to prove it too.
Bras cause cancer.
Was up Mt Washington Thursday, that's nuts! Not a fan of heights...

I thought I might go up yesterday but in the end decided I didn't care for the Laconia traffic & scene.
I went to VT yesterday. No traffic anywhere.
I went up Mt. Ascutney, which is similar grades as Mt. Washington, but 1/2 the height and it is 100% paved.
Got to rip up and down 2x and never saw another car, motorcycle, or bicycle the whole time. (Still so twisty I never got out of 2nd gear though)
Washington is the highest point east of the Rocky Mountains with the exception of Mt Mitchell in NC, So in this case north east is anything east of the Rockies and North of NC.
there's a lot more than just Mt Mitchell that's higher than Mt Washington, the highest point on the Appalachian trail is Clingmans Dome, in TN, even Newfound Gap is higherOriginally posted by tonyd

Upon further review RandyO is correct. There are some 16 Peaks in the SouthEast that are higher than our Washington. Sometimes recalling useless facts from High School Geography makes me look like an ass.
RandyO, were you in the Durham, NH yesterday by chance? I thought I spotted an SV with your well worn Riding coat atop it on Rt 4 headed east.
The unique thing with Mt. Washington is you can ride/drive a motor vehicle to the top.
There are very few higher points that have a road to the top, and most of the places out west that have higher roads are not as steep.
What was the temperature up there at this time of year?
I know a little about everything, and alot about nothing.
Currently it's 53 degrees.
yesterday was 43 when we hit the summit............... depending on when you caught the 50 + mph wind bursts
This time of year, it can be anywhere between 35-70...Originally posted by JeffL

That was about 5 years ago and it did hit the record high that day of 73 on the top. The bugs on the top of the mtn. were crazy that day as well, there were clouds of them. I think JC and Rach. were even with us that day. I'm gonna have to dig out some pics.Originally posted by RandyO
