sounds like fun.. cold rides home after a long day of riding are always fun.
sucks to hear that someone went down twice! glad to hear he's alright. what's his name on NESR? talk about shitty luck.
Bump909 beat it man......you don't even own a bike anymore or nutt's for that matter.
When did the girl say you could get another one, and when will you get them back?

oh no way... you gotta be joking.
Guys, I don't want to stir up a shitpot, but if someone goes down and can not continue with the group but is able to limp the bike home, the Buddy System is in FULL EFFECT! Someone REALLY NEEDS to stick with them.
I've only crashed once on the street and after getting some help from a passer by I threw a leg back over & kept on going... Luckilly I wasn't more than 5 minutes from my destination and I was meeting up with friends, but mentally (asside from the fact that i whacked my head pretty good), I was in no shape to ride by myself.

I'm with Pete on this one. Once you learn the basics of how to ride, staying up-right becomes mostlly a mental excercise (provided a car dosn't take you out). If your mental state is compromised for some reason, then so is your saftey.Originally posted by OreoGitorio

Wow, well wishes to Dylan. Thats truly unfortunate what happened, hope he makes a full recovery.
I thought about trying to fly up 91 to catch you guys sometime in the afternoon, but I wouldnt have met you until 3-4pm anyways, I knew the dark would come fast, and along with it the cold temps. Glad the ride was overall a good one.
I know a little about everything, and alot about nothing.
thats shittyi did 413 miles not including the trip from portsmouth to MM (65 miles). pushed the front end hard on 17 in the first long right hairpin and took it realativly easy after that. but i did get a knee down on the exit ramp from 93N to 393E
slabbed it big time home. 100N to 89S. stopped at the border for gas and managed to average 84MPH home. passed KB and Jenn on the way
. i was soo beat when i got home @8 that i passed out at 9. good times. thanks again Degs

Something we all need to keep in mind, i'm sure most of you already know this but i'll say it anyways for the guys that are new.. It is getting cold, to roads are getting and staying Cold.. you may not be able to Lean that bike down as far on a 50 or 60 degree day as you did on those hot 80 and 90 degree days in june and july.. and remember depending on what kinda runner your running it may take a little while for your tires to warm up and get sticky... i found this out many years ago when i first go into street bikes, i rode the pavement one cool night around this time of year becuz my rear lost traction... where it normally would not have.. make sure you know your equipment, know how your bike handles in the cooler weather before you go and ride it on a 55 degree day when your used to riding in 90 degrees..Originally posted by chr|s sedition

Hey all...I missed this ride, but in the future - anyone who wipes out on Rt. 17 and has a halfway f'ed up bike calls highsider and gets a free ride home in the pickup.
I hope this Dylan fellow heals up quickly and gets back on a bike.

Thanks dude. That was the hardest I've riden the 883, but it was a blast. Came home to find my oil was low and the pegs had a new shape. I have to say you guys can ride.
I had to laugh when "harley" was used as an euphemism for slow and/or stupid riding. (E.g., "we are going to ride harely style back down the highway....er....you know what I mean." or "That guy on the harley is going to crash...er...because he doesn't have your model.") It's funny because (a lot of the time) it is true. lol. Also, I was impressed when some guy (I forget all the names too) pointed to my bike and could list all the differences between the R model and the standard model. You guys know your bikes.
Anyway, I met bunch of cool people and had a great time.
Dylan, sorry to hear about your day. Best wishes.
Not sure, but YOU were one of the better ones! Thank god you too were very lucky!!!Originally posted by theothersean

I didn't make this ride, but sorry to hear about Dylan's accidents. I really hope you havve a quick and complete recovery...
And really, I don't know what happened, but I'm with Pete: you go down once, and you AT LEAST get another set of eyes on you to go home, if not a ride in a truck (with your bike coming with you in the back).
Maybe we should start a thread of people with trucks that are willing to leave their # with people going on these monstrous group rides, in case anything happens?
With this fairly tight community as it is here on NESR, theres almost no reason we dont have a list of contact numbers covering a good portion of the region. I know if I was around, and got the call, I'd have no qualms jumping in my car with whatever tools I could fit to help a broken-down NESR'ian.Originally posted by Bhavesh
