    River Rd, NY question??

Planning route from MA. to Lake George via VT. --while plotting T road, came across River Road--Anyone ever been on River Rd South from North Creek, NY through Riparius, The Glen, then to Rte 28?
I guess if follows the Adirondack River. Road condition, type (2 lane, dirt, etc.) speed safely taken, rural (homes, cottages) LEO patrolled?
    TIA,
    'Lidz

Yeah, sort of- I'll be leading a group of bikes (8-10, maybe). Fri June 10 staying at Hydeaway Inn, Waitsfield-Sat heading over to NY, looks like Rte125 (17 is sposa be shitty), Chimney Pt. ferry- (still working? I've never floated over)...T rd, --maybe that River Rd, if I get a good feedback--then they will go South to Americade, Mary and I wil prolly head N. back into VT--HAVE NO DESIRE TO DO AMERICADE!!!--stay another night, then home. The group going to the Cade will be combo "old" ex-racers on Sportouters and Harleys (if they decide to come)--we could always pick u up @ home if you're interested!!
    Let me know.

Dirt, 2 lane, so so shape last time I was on it.

I've put together an Adirondack Weekend with rides. It might be helpful: http://www.newenglandriders.org/Adir...ks%20Rides.htm

Blue Ridge Rd is a nice road that has good twists on the west end. Be sure to hit 28N from Blue Ridge Rd down to North Creek. Great twists with new pavement.

AND..another question, if you don't mind. If I were to leave the group at Trcy Rd. and Rte 9 to head back to Vt (without backtracking)--what would be the best routes??
    TIA,
    Steve

I like Peaceful Valley Rd (CR-29) south to Route 8 east to Palisades Rd (CR-26) around Brant Lake back to Route 8 east past elephant rock. The take 9N south into Lake George. Scroon River Rd (CR10) and Route 418 along the river are other good roads going to Lake George. Check the links below for some really good info:

Tracy is very nice and I think that CR4 that runs from Moriah to North Hudson may be even better. I'd take CR4 east to Moriah and then take the Crown Point ferry or the Ticonderoga ferry to VT.

We spent years putting together the best roads and places in New England and New York. I think that it is a tremendous resource. Check it out and tell me what you think:

    I'm Watertown where are you?

The Route 2/ West Shore Road (Lake Champlain Islands) - From Milton to Alburg Ride is great (they've been having flooding however):
