I was just going to ask the same thing.

Does anyone know of a digital camera mount that wouldn't mean the camera has to look through the windscreen?

Mine's dark smoke and I doubt I'd get much video through there.

I don't think it'd clear the top of my DB windscreen.

I was thinking maybe a bar-mounted one or one that might mount to the cross bar on the upper fairing stay.

Maybe something like one of these:

SAENG/TA Cockpit Mounts: The perfect solution to hold your Palm PC, GPS, radar detector, or garage door (but damn, they're expensive!)

yea. hahaha. I'll only do that while hanging back and for a couple of seconds. The funny thing is, I never know what I am filming until I look at it later.

    I hear ya.

Jamie, that was how I messed up the recording. Need to find a camera with remote control and also a removable display screen.

I fabricated up an awesome camera mount last night. I have attached images and a video clip to demonstrate how well it held position even at speed and turns. I think this will work very nice for future rides. I can even mount my video camera to it. It was getting dark when I tested it so the camera was a little out of focus in some spots.

what did you use for that?

Could you possibly do a bar-mounted one? I'm thinking about putting one on my left clip-on, so it gets a shot just outside the upper fairing.

Yea. I used a 3/8 socket adapter so the tapered end stops it from falling and you have something to mount the tripod mount to. I also added friction tape around the adapter to minimize any slipping. I threw on a washer to make sure the plastic didn't scratch. It is a real simple setup with a top of an old tripod we never used and a 3/8" socket adapter. And yes, they were baby wheelies.

Pretty good video quality Jamie. I made a very similar mount as yours last year and used a 3.2 MP photo camera to record the video. Here's a sample of me practising 2nd gear clutch ups

The image quality sucks. Too much vibrations for the camera I guess. It gives this blured view. What kind of camera are you using?
