What a day yesterday! Started with a nice viewing and sound check on the RSV4 and ended with an Aprilia only ride back to Seacoast. Nice meeting you Bump (oh and I stole some of the RSV pics for facebook).
Pete, that kid on the yamaha was too funny. It was even funnier watching him try to explain it to his friend.
I went down SCC around 2:00 yesterday to check out the event. Ended up putting the 929 on the dyno put out 111.61 WHP. The bike has a Yoshi RS-3 Slip on and BMC race filter with no other mods as of yet. Planning on PC3 next spring w/ custom map via SCC.Maybe it's me, but I thought my bike would put out more HP I have to admit I was pretty disapointed with the results. I was guessing it would've put out atleast somewhere around 128 whp. Really impressed with the new RSV4 that thing is a sexy piece of machinary. Someday
Yeah, 111 doesn't sound right to me either, but I'm not well versed in the 929.

Ya, seems like all the dyno results through the day were dumbied down. My friend ran his '07 cbr 1000rr right after me and he put down 139 WHP. He had ran 159 WHP a few months back on Nault's Honda Dyno? The kid after him had an 03 RC51 and put down 112 WHP. I don't know but for being liter bikes they should be putting out higer numbers. Did anyone else get disapointed with the #'s their bike put out?
Those numbers sound pretty close to spot on. The 159 read on the 1000rr on the other hand sounds inflated.
no offense but Seacoast's dyno always seems to disappoint, I always attributed to hot / humid weather but not yesterday. might need to tune up
I ran a 03' SV 650S yesterday @ Sea coast. Mods are a full M4 titanium exhaust and TRE and it made 70.6HP.
Seemed a touch low, 111HP for a CBR 929 does not sound right @ all.
97 900SS with several little things did 68hp, has done about 75hp twice before at seacoast, i need adjust the carb a bit besides point new needle + main jet change
Like I said they say, nothing stops a party barge.

What a nice day Saturday turned out to be! It was great seeing all the NESRs! And, while not my 'cup o' tea', I can see why some would be attracted to the RSV. (Horsepower if for no other reason!)
It was also cool to see all the different bikes that came in to dyno or donate. Motorcyclists really are a generous, and mostly inclusionary, group!
And what a great day for a ride to the Lion! (And while it may have seemed it, I wasn't actually lost the first 10 miles...just testing out some new roads!)
Ride on...the season continues.

Just wanted to give a quick thank you to all those that came out to our Dyno Day - we had a great turnout and great day weather wise. A note to all of those that felt their horsepower numbers were down - every dyno reads different. Not to say anything about anyone elses dyno but ours was probably calibrated more recently then theirs. There are a few things that correction factors do not account for and that can affect HP readings - running condition of the bike, engine temp, oil temp, case temp, fuel temp and tire pressure. Bikes always make more HP if they are heat soaked. Hot motors+hot oil+cold fuel+cold intake air= highest horsepower. This may account for some of the differences as I would bet that most of the bikes had cooled by the time they were run. In any case for the sake of the shootout everyone had to run on the same track so the winners were the winners no matter what the numbers were. And if you really want to increase your HP numbers you could always remove left hand grip and insert RSV4
Thanks again to everyone
When has a minor detail such as that prevented me from doing something stupid?
sorry to all i didnt see... I ended up getting there a little late around 1:30 ish looked around, said my hellos let everyone see what cute doggies I have and then said my goodbyes and went shopping![]()
Robb, Pat, Nick, Alex (Who I saw for 1 second), and everyone at Seacost...

Glad the weather turned out nice for the event & that Seacoast was able to raise some money. I wasn't sure what to expect because I've never had my bike dyno'd before and really haven't cared about the power numbers. My bike produced a bit more than 134 whp. Thought it would be in somewhere in the 140s, but I guess the shaft drive impacts the numbers more than I figured.
