I started out saturday morning heading for the Kanc. Had only 4 people in front of me the entire time across. Passing was no problem and 2 cruisers slid right and waved me by. Good start. Weather couldn't have been better. Took rt. 112 from its beginning to almost its end before taking a stab at some back roads looking for covered bridges. A little dirt riding but the northern roads seem to be better kept up than some of the southern ones I have used. Load the pegs and had fun with it. Found the swiftwater bridge, Bath bridge then jumped on 302/10 to hit rt.135 where I found the Bath-Haverhill bridge. Damn nice woodwork you can appreciate if you know what it takes to put it together. Took 135n and found this to be my new favorite road. If you have never traveled it, put it on a nice fall ride to do. No traffic, incredible scenery, good asphalt, great mix of twisty and relaxed cruising. It follows the Connecticut river in many spots and its mainly in farm country. Stopped in Lunenburg Vt to find another bridge. Kinda cool to hear this thing creak, pop and groan after a lone car goes across. Made my way to Lancaster then down rt.2 to Jefferson for greasy pizza (it hit the spot). Cruised rt 2 to 113 in Me and stopped at a nice pull over to relax a bit with the river. Ended up talking with a guy looking for Evans Notch, "you're here" was my response. Turns out he was looking for the cold river overlook while doing an iron butt rally. He had over 400 clocked and 600 to go. From NY on a K series beemer, smiling the whole time. From 113 to hurricane mnt rd. to west side to 153 then home. All told by my odo hit 292 awesome miles. Then while home I find out I may have picked up several weeks of work. Cold beers and good celebratory fire for an awesome day and life is good.
