Route 17 yesterday

So I haven't been able to get out much at all on the bike because of the kid and working a lot so yesterday a buddy and i got out for a bit cause his gf watched Mikayla.

We had no real destination other than my favorite gas station in Huntington VT to get a creemee. Of course the creemee machine was not operable so that part of the trip sucked - I got a homemade meatball sandwhich instead.

So we talked about where to go next and we were real close to route 17 but I said tht I didn't want to do it with all the rain that we've had and it being my first real ride of the season. We rip down Huntington Rd - the road that takes you to the west side of 17. Just before the stop sign - about 2 miles - we meet a porsche - looked brandy new. He went left to I motioned to Caleb that, we too, were going left. I wanted to see what this guy was going to do on this road.

We get going and he pulls over and waves us on - boo. I passed and continued up at reasonable speeds. Nothing terribly fast but decent enough - bout 8 grand in 2nd is all i caught with a glance down.

Felt good getting on the road and leanin over. Went back down after a brief stop at the top and went all the way down the west side of 17 and home on 116 - past highsiders hot wife waving hello outside

This is one of those things that I am gonna def miss when i move to Conc.

man i thought you were going to say you raced and smoked the porsche or that you went back down and he was upside down on fire.

there's good roads around concord you just have to find them

Will, ride it again today, for me and follow 17 all the way to NY then ride on Essex Rt 6 out of Moriah Center

lots a times I feel like a nice ride, I head up that way, I usually slab it to South Royalton, then 107, Blackmorr bLvd, Rt 100 thru Granville

then 17to NY, then I ride around on the back roads between Port henry, Elizabethtown, North Hudson & Crown Point

then I retrace my ride back home, sometimes I take Lincoln Gap instead

did you follow it East all the way then head back to the top ?

Road was actually in really good shape. Dirt in some spots but not really in any lines and only in 1 turn - other were on the straights on the center line. We went west to east to the top and back down same side. The Mad River Glen side usually has more wash because of the MRG trucks using the road. That and I don't really like that side anyway so we stuck to the west.

OK, Nikon....Lemme get this straight:
You saw his HOT wife waving and his car was not there. I'm confused as to why you wouldn't stop. You could sneak in a quickie with the hot wife......

We rode 17 this evening (5/27), was in great shape. Not much gravel at all...rode both sides and both were in good shape. Deffinately get up there if you can!
