Tail of the Dragon -- Sometime between now and July 22

So I have been working in Greenville, SC for the past 6 weeks, which is about 2 hours away from the tail, and I have yet to go there, so I am down here until at least the 20th, and I want to ride the tail. I can get rooms at my hotel for 99 a night.

Youre so lucky. Everywhere between where you are and the Tail are great too. Take advantage of it. I would try and swing it but leaving for 1 week Nova Scotia trip July 14th and then Camping for a week in Newport July 22nd. Have fun and be safe down there. If you end up on the Cherohola to get to the Gap make sure you read up at Tailofthedragon.com and memorize the 2 tricky closing radious corners and watch your speeds. That road is more dangerous than the dragon.

If I didn't have to be here for class next week I would be tossing on a back pack and riding the bike down right now. I have the whole week off from work, unfortunately I have to go to school.

I just got back from two weeks of riding over there.

There are plenty of good roads. 28 to northern Georgia is an awesome road.
Cherohala has lots of long sweepers.

The motels in Robbinsville are cheaper than the ones at the Gap or Fontana.

I am very close to getting a job in beautiful Charlotte NC ... which is about 3.5 hours away from the dragon.

I'm at the airport waiting to go to Charlotte right now, if I was smart I wouldn't have bought tickets and I would have driven down today because I have the 4th off but I wasnt thinking when I bought them. I'm going to see if I can switch some flights and try to ride one weekend.
