Re: Vermont Roads Tour: Part 1

One of my riding buddies' little brothers just got a bike and wants to see the App Gap, so we're doing the ride I mentioned above. If you want to join us, meet in the McDonald's parking lot on Williston Road in South Burlington at 10am, or at the intersection of Rt 116 and Rt 17 East at 10:45ish.

Either is all right by me.

We could always do both too.

How about a 10 O'clock meet for all interested riders at the Mobil off Exit 11 in Richmond, VT.

I'll bring us North then run to the App Gap by mid afternoon.

With full tanks from there we can do an awesome loop

Have fun, guys; I'm sticking with the route I mentioned because I've got a few other people coming along on that one.

    No problem.

Have fun on 140 rolling into Wallingford.

Back side of 140 sucks to 30 though.

Drop down 133 S to Middlebury Springs to 30 then North.

I think I'm going to go with Mark this time, if only because the starting point is closer to my house.

Wise choice Half -a - Busa won't be enough bike for this 3 hour tour.

Sweet! Now we can all watch your taillight disappear on 17... Actually, since I was at the back of the pack last time, I never even saw your tail light once we turned onto 17.

    Ha. Nice.

One of the guys from my RAT pack is joining us on his Bonneville at the intersection of 116 and 17. So Bill, you can either meet up with us there around 10:45-11, or in South Burlington at 10.

So how many does it look like we are gonna have? So far I know Bill, Mark, your friend Jason's little brother. Who else?

I think it'll be you, me, Bill, Jason, Jason's brother, and Peter (the guy with the Bonnie). Just about right; more than 6 or 7 gets to be a bit of a hassle.

Definitely, sounds like it'll be a good time. My bike hasn't been touched since my ride last weekend with Bill, so it needs some abuse.

Interesting. My tripmeter read about 230 miles round trip. I didn't have THAT much further to go.

Re: Vermont Roads Tour: Part 1

I still need to work out the exact route for Saturday the 21st, but we're on for the ride unless the weather really sucks. We'll revisit when it gets closer.

But for now the plan is to meet in South Burlington at 8:45am (in the McDonald's parking lot on Shelburne Rd) or at 10:00am at the Bridge Restaurant at the intersection of 125 and 17 by the Chimney Point bridge across Lake Champlain.

Update: I've worked out a route that I think ought to combine tight technical twisties, sweepers, and nice cruising roads. I won't publicize it here though.

Sure, just meet us at one of the spots I mentioned above.

And check in here on Friday or so -- if the weather forecast for Saturday sucks, we'll postpone this ride. Between the twisty roads and the scenery, there's no point doing it in the rain.
