Eventful ride to say the least. Weather was beautiful. Just about 200 miles round trip and my rear tire was chewed like it has never been chewed before.

I'm sure you will hear the rest in the days to come.

I'll post some pics up later tonight.

    Re: VT NY Ride 7/29

The "eventfulness" of today had something to do with T**** rd biting back at me Came around a right hander, was not going faster than my normal speed through that part of the road, started to straighten up and hit a frost heave maybe 4-5 inches high that sent me into a tank slapper, tried to save it but it all happened to damn fast. Before I knew it i was sliding on the pavement watching my bike pass by me and dissapear into a ditch. I got right up and ran to the edge of the road and found the sv laying in a marshy area. Subframe bent, right clipon broke off, gauges, headlight, tank, entire tail plastics, radiator, etc. broken or damaged.

My arai didnt touch the ground once, but my left glove wore through and my right elbow has some rash on it also. Overall gear did its job, only now starting to feel some of the bruises. A friend of one of the guys we met out in NY (sry i forgot your name) was nice enough to drive me and the bike all the way back to burlington. Hope the rest of the ride was good for the rest of the crew and a very big THANK YOU to you guys for being cool about me wrecking and helping me out with everything. Ill upload some pics of the bike shortly.

Glad your ok man, bike is repairable.

That frost heave is on the far end, away from the bridge to NY, right? Pretty sure that's the one I tanked, twice, and after round # 2 the lesson was learned. Someone should get a piece of colored ribbon and hang it on a tree branch ahead of that turn, or something to mark the turn with... that damn heave is in the worst spot possible. When I tanked it I didn't get a slapper, but I finished out the turn left of the yellow lines.

I think we're all glad that mike was Ok and that it was only the bike that took the real damage.

Nice pictures J, thanks for taking them.

Took a ride over to T road on saturday with another fellow. I'm not sure if it was the same lump in the road, but we definately found one hummock surfacing as we were coming from the west exiting a right hand sweeper. Some riders who shall remain nameless seem to have tagged the volcano with lots of florescent orange marking paint.
