    Local shop for exhaust work?

The big-ass stock cans gotta go! I've looked around and can't find a decent aftermarket solution, so custom is the way to go! I have an idea of what I want and some shorty cans, but I don't have the equipment (welder, chop wheel, etc.) or know-how (where to cut, how to mount, making both sides symmetrical) to do it right. Does anybody know of a local shop that will do quality custom exhaust work? Thanks!

One fellow I know of in Bellows Falls. His name is Frank. Many years in the trade.
I have seen pictures of custom intakes he has made for Audis and suspension bits
for hill climb cars. He is regarded as being quite the fabricator.

I can try to locate some information if you wish?

Burlington Muffler & Brake (next to the Pour House) ROCKS. Not sure if they'll work on bike stuff but I don't really see why they wouldn't.

    Welding is welding.

    Worth a call!

If you could, that would be awesome. I can go shoot the shit with him on audi fabrication too!

I will definitely keep that in mind, all I really need is someone that can do stainless. The midpipe is asymmetrical, so the hard part is engineering it to clear the chain on the left, maintain ground clearance for full lean angles on both sides, AND be symmetrical.

    Thanks fellas!

Tim D. on here did Nicks Buell and I'm gonna have him do mine when I can afford the cans. Check with him.

If you are looking for a full system, it might be better to go aftermarket, probly end up saving $$$...a Muzzy High Mount would be the tits on that bike!

I was gonna mention in your other thread you need to get rid of those stock cans

I'm a fan of M4, and I notice a lot of people that race SV's use M4 exhaust. You might be able to get the M4 duals for the SV in shorty's. You've not seen mine yet, but I've got a race mount M4 shorty, conical tip and mine is carbon. The other cool thing is, you can get the slip on with a titanium mid-pipe(s). You'd have to call them if you were interested to be sure you can get the shorty cans for the SV....shorty = 12 inches

Re: Local shop for exhaust work?

If I went aftermarket, I'd really want to go with something like akra or yosh, and those run pretty expensive. If I had the money for a full system, I would probably buy a ti-force 2-2 or a yosh 3/4 2-1. I really like the dual cans though, separates the 1000 from the 650 and sounds pretty mean! I've heard the M4 on the SV1000, sounds amazing but the cans are like $300-400 apiece, so that's out.

I actually rode down to bristol and talked to Miles @ MotoFab today, he was really optimistic about the idea and actually had an SV1000 in the shop that he could mock stuff up on. Realistically, the cans won't be as low or as far forwards as I was originally hoping, for the sake of lean clearance, but I think it'll still look sick!
