    Wirelessly posted (TELECA-/2.0 (BREW 3.1.5; U; EN-US; SAMSUNG; SPH-M810; Teleca/Q05A/INT) MMP/2.0 Profile/MIDP-2.1 Configuration/CLDC-1.1)

15.5 on a regular basis is no joke. Plenty of mw experts dont do those times.

    Re: 2011 LRRS INFO!

Thats not a requirement to bump, only to bump early. So no lap time threshold to go expert if I read that correct. Good safety record and 400 points in 12 months. Looks like much bigger expert grids as well next yr. Most current Ams will be experts next yr according to that. I'm thinking a lap time threshold requirement would be smart to go expert, not just early. Say maybe consistent 17's. And I like the 107% rule to go early. Any AM doing 15's should be bumped anyway. AM times 23's to 18's would be reasonable imo.

    For the record, I'm not a big fan of the schedule . . . Formula 40 . . . Race 13 . . . Sunday . . . really?

Novice class is a true novice class, new riders, and more casual riders. If you are just getting into racing you are not going to have any cherry pickers. It should make it a little easier to acclimate without people running 18's blowing your windscreen off when they pass you. Should make the AM grids a little more filled out which I am all for. I didnt like it at first, but the more I think about it the more I like it.

This does seem like it might decrease the cherry picking and increase Expert grids.

Where are you guys finding the weekend schedules for this year? All I find is the years schedule, nothing about times, but then again, I probably skipped right over it somewhere

    Re: 2011 LRRS INFO!

Great change. Eric and I have been discussing similar change for the last ten or so years. We need a Provisional class, like the novice class, to give riders a chance to become racers before having to be on track with the fastest expert racers. This solves an age old problem of riders picking a class with small grids and racking up advancement points while turning lap times accurately measured with a sun dial, and making expert. I'm sure the lap time index will be tweaked a bit, as will class structure and bump rules, as needed. I don't expect any one to solve all the problems on the first try, but it's fantastic to see the effort by Eric and all the LRRS staff trying something to make the racing better for all. Thanks.

    Re: 2011 LRRS INFO!

    400pts / 15 races in 12 months...

35pts for 1st, 7 events a year... That's 11 wins, or a metric fuckton of lower place finishes, and you've got to be doing 2 races every weekend minimum to hit the race count. I know this is the same metric CCS uses, but don't most other CCS venues have a LOT more events each year in each region?

I wonder if they might have set the bar slightly too high for AM to EX migration in our region, given the goal is to get people out of AM sooner rather than later elsewhere in CCS too?

    Re: 2011 LRRS INFO!

so say a NV in LW would be able to do a max of three races on one bike correct?

    race 9 on Sat
    race 3 & 9 on Sun

    and thats it. . .

Some Class has to be Race 13 on Sunday. Expert Unlimited Superbike has been the 2nd to last race for the past couple of seasons.

And as far as the lap time thresholds... Its all subject to change. They will fine tune and tweak it here and there to make it both safe and realistic.

There's been a fair share of "feature" type EX/AM races late in the day on Sunday over the years.

My bike, outside NV, really only has a chance of placing in 1 race/weekend (AM Ptwin). I'd have to enter 10 races.weekend, which would put my proddy twin EX in MWSB, to make those #'s.

Looks like I'll be AM as long as I don't have a non ptwin bike.

There's nothing in the rules about your suit containing 'extras' like a leaf blower ducted into the airbox...

That's god's way of reminding you that the EX500 is to racing what cbr_knight is to womanizing... it just doesn't work.
