2011 LRRS INFO!

Looks like I have to rework my schedule. Don isn't allowing me to bump to amateur yet, due to inconsistent avg times. I only did 7 races last year and the avg times were:

Rookie weekend
1:30
1:29
1:28
1:28

Sept Weekend:
1:27
1:26
1:26

So, with only 2 races of 7 in the 26's, it's not enough. Looks like I'll be working my ass off to bump.

I would think he would also like you to complete more races before asking to bump.

I was told to not even ask until I had at least 10.

the rule of 10 races is no more apparently. It's all based on your times, consistency and safety record. I only did 5 races last year and got the boot from Novice to Amateur this year...no sandbagging for me apparently

Apparently... He asked BEFORE the rule change. You got bumped AFTER the rule change.

Plus I don't think the rookie race counts as a race. So he asked after only doing 6 races.

I was the same way... then I did a whole race of them including a 19.1.

hey, not for nothing...I asked too last year. I always thought ten races as a hard rule was sort of myopic. Funny, all the things I put in my petition to bump last year were mentioned in the LRRS letter justifying the change this year...

if I had someone to chase it will happen quickly i think. The last two races I was out front from the beginning. funny thing is my lap times slowed as a result AND there were people behind me running teens that couldn't catch up because it was too much of a gap at that point.

I'm excited to get out there in amateur and chase some people...I hope to get pulled into the teens the first weekend
