In all seriousness what happens in case that there is snow still on the track?
Has a full weekend ever been canceled/postponed before?
The weather will have to get crazy weird for there to still be snow on the track. Snow in the infield, distinct possibility, but with the temps we've got any pavement that peeks through will quickly clear completely.
I know it's snowing right now... (not sticking, but snowing). I haven't been by there lately.
Jason, what's your back yard look like?
Road racing with anything resembling frozen water anywhere near the racing surface seems kind crazy to me. But then I'm new here and still working on beating the self-preservation instinct out of myself.
All grass covered ground is still covered in snow. Probably ~1 ft left "in open space". Maybe a little less than that.
I don't have any asphalt that I didn't do "some clearing of" so I don't have much of a reference for what the track would look like.
You guys gonna break out your crochet needles and sit around worrying together?![]()

I don't know how to crochet? I knitting an option?
The only time I remember a snow cancellation was in 1992. We had cars running around the track, trying to clear the stuff, but to no avail. Ted Goddard called it a no go. On the way south on 106, the sun broke out. Ted got his ass reamed by Bob Bahre for prematurely calling it quits.
It snowed during the first two events in 2002. Current AMA Flat Track champion Jared Mees was racing with us that year and he looked pretty comfortable driving out of Turn 12 in the sleet. I froze my ass off at the second event on May 18-19, then got a sunburn a week later during the USCRA vintage event.
This coming season will be my 20th working as an LRRS and a USCRA official. I'm still having a good time!

It snowed 3 years ago while I was in my leathers waiting for my practice session. We had a fire in the pit all weekend during the day to stay warm , it was 42 when we raced

Aaaaaand I'm out for the year. Just bought a new work truck and I have some other things going on right now. I'm OK with it, it will just have to be next year for me. Good luck everybody!
Congrads on the truck. I will miss the KTM, that thing is so cool.
