Waiting to see, but I suspect the 848 will be dominant in the middleweight classes once a few pounds are shaved off.

    derek

    CCS Rule Updates for 2008

    Lightweight Classes
    Request: Allow 800cc non-desmo twins
    Action: Approved
The addition of the BMW F800 fits well with the other bikes in this class, while allowing some of
the bikes that have been outclassed in Hp by newer machines to build up to the current hp levels,
IE Hawk GT, SV650, Ninja 650 So a Hawk can be built to 800cc for this class? So what!A Hawk can't go to 800cc's!!

    Ultra-Light Superbike
Request: Allow 650cc water cooled twins (What do you call a HAWK?)
    Action: Approved
The other bikes in this class have come up while the level of the SV650 and Ninja 650s has been
eclipsed by other machines in the Lightweight classes. This places 3 models with 70hp/350lbs WHAT?

Request: Split Ultra Light into Am and Ex
Action: Approved LRRS already does this!

Looks like the Hawks are getting screwed! Makes me glad I have the Duc now.

    CCS Rule Updates for 2008

Ok I still dont see the problem gridding according to championship points as opposed to when you send in your preregistration. I know Jerry said they have a number of reasons why they do it and why they dont. Anyone have any idea of those reasons?
Only one I can think of its is makes championship races more boring cause it will give an advantage to whoevers in first- fourth place cause they're already on the front row. I still think thats a lot of racing available, get good starts and stuff.

i've always heard one of the reasons was to get people to preregister and send in their money earlier rather than later. i'm not sure how true that is, but I am interested in hearing the reasons behind the current griding system.

Well then ammend it so point leaders who preregister get the better position, post registrations get put first come first serve.
Like I say, Im just curious the reasoning and why they seem so deadset against it despite what appears to be the majority of racers that favor it.

    CCS Rule Updates for 2008

ULTRA-LIGHTWEIGHT SUPERBIKE (Novice Amateur & Expert Divisions)
Single cylinder, unlimited displacement, unlimited frame
Two stroke, liquid cooled, up to 315cc
Two stroke, air cooled, unlimited displacement
Twin cylinder, air cooled, non-desmodromic valves up to 900cc
Twin cylinder, air cooled, desmodromic valves, up to 805cc
Twin cylinder, liquid cooled, pre-1999 model year, up to 700cc
Three cylinder, non-fuel injected, up to 900cc
Four cylinder, liquid cooled, pre-1987 model year, up to 570cc
Four cylinder, liquid cooled, 1987 to 1992 model year, up to 500cc
Four cylinder, air cooled, up to 750cc
    Harley-Davidson Sportsters of unlimited displacement

It seems they are removing the Pre-1999 restriction on Liquid cooled twins to allow the SV's and Kawi's to run.

witch in loudon is most likely the death of the ULSB class or the lightweight class. Because nobody runs BMW's or The Big Buells at loudon.

So Lightweight will be the 1000CC Ducati class?

    I still think this sucks

What's stopping a Hawk from hitting 800cc? Cosworth has 85mm pistons, Falicon sells billet cranks, just request a 4mm stroked crank and you're there. : )

Will be good compitition. I suspect it might be 'easier' for less talented riders to go fast on a 848 but I think equal level top guys are going to be pretty close.

yes, but the vast majority of us don't have the ability to create such a beast. the average 750cc hawk motor won't last long (and if i recall you had a number of rather custom bits and lots of hours into it)

SVs and kawi 650s already have classes they are competitive in stock and modified. we get ONE that we're competitive in. keep them the F!CK out of ULSB or GOOD GOD at least don't let them build their F-ing motors! it's bad enough with 100hp ducs.

I think it is a "This is a NON competative club sport" and they don't want to make it into the AMA.

Yknow, I want to respond to that, and Im sure its not necessarily your position in the matter, but trying to do so without coming off as a dick is tough here.
If there is someone out there in my race who thinks its a non competitive situation, yknow, Id rather them do track days. If you can find me more than a handful of racers that view this as a non-competitive sport Id be absolutely amazed. Isnt that what track days are? If I didnt want compeition Id just do them. And I dont see why gridding people would make it more or less competitive. If its not competitive why dont we give out plaques to everyone that participates instead of just the top finishers? And no matter how you cut it, even with championship gridding it will never be the AMA. Truth be told, a lot of people just dont have the finances, and a LOT more just dont have the ability to go AMA, why should this be any more or less discounted?
Like I say, I know this isnt necessarily your viewpoint Doc, but I think if thats the reason they do it its kind of a piss poor reason.

You can grid the Woods, Greenwoods, Narbones at the Back, It will not make much of a diffrence they will get in the front. You can put a slower rider in the front of the grid it still does not matter because the faster guys will get by.

Its not the AMA but it is competiteve

I agree with Dan's Idea... All the fast guys grid in the back.

And dolla... not my stance at all, just repeating what I think I remember hearing at a riders meeting. If you think about it the current system works fine. Does it really matter if the fast guys are ALWAYS starting from the front row? Kinda mixes it up a little if they don't Pre Reg.

Time to start emailing CCS with your Ideas/ Suggestions/ Complaints

Isn't this like allowing SV's into Prody Twins? Sorry, Shitty McBikefest.

They should let F1 cars race in NASCAR. That would be better. Those fag teams that can only spend 20 mil aren't out there to compete. GOTTA PAY IF YOU WANNA PLAY, YA KNOW?
