Case Covers for tech?

Just wondering how strict they are on having case covers on a I-4? I'm guessing there is no chance at passing tech without them but I just figured I'd post up. I was planning on racing for classics but funds are kinda tight after buying plastics and such.

I think it depends on the bike. Check the rule book.

Rulebook says inline fours in which the cases contain oil need reinforced covers, but I've seen bikes up there running stock covers, which is what led John to ask how strictly that's enforced, like the bellypan requirement that seems overlooked sometimes.

FWIW; the right side cover on my F4i is still a factory cover as there isn't a reinforced case cover (that I've found) which is offered for my particular machine. Passes tech every weekend.
