    Drain water

Going to be low 30's tonight in the Boston area. If you haven't drained the water in your racebike yet, might want to.... (ask me how I know..)

    Re: Drain water

Good call... I unloaded the bikes from my trailer and got them into the garage (heated) last night in anticipation of the first freeze...

Although if Denno doesn't start paying more attention to me I might put his back outside

    Re: Drain water

i thought replacing the water with antifreeze/water 50/50 was the best way to go because you don't always get all the water out

Well ya after you drain the water you do refill the system with a non-freezing substitute... like mustard.

    Re: Drain water

i've spent the last 3 weeks at work winterizing boat engines. fresh oil, fresh filter, fresh fuel filter and flushed with pottable antifreeze.. if it's a gas motor fog the fuck out of the cyclinders with fogging oil. don't forget the fuel stabilizer.

    your engine will thank you.

    Re: Drain water

    /me drains water.
Runs out of 50/50 antifreeze partway thru
Drive to WallyWorld to buy more
    Fills bike up
Proceeds to kick bike 40 times swearing
Can't figure out why it won't start.
    Blame cold weather
Realize gas tank is empty b/c I drain it after each race
Put splash of gas in and kick another 10 or so times
Reach down and turn gas petcock ON
    Starts 2nd kick

Word. I even went out to the trailer last night and brought all of the stuff (lubes, chemicals, etc) that I didn't want to let freeze.
