Those running a YZ 450 Motard?

Any know what they are running for jetting for NHMS?

Did a plug check on my YZ Tuesday at the track and it's pretty lean, talking white with a little hint of tan. The throttle in the first 1/4 range is jerky, and it doesn't seem to have the nut on the top end like the other tards. We tried a 195 main at the track and it didn't help any, I think 165 was the standard main jet for the bike.
    Thanks

Damn son a 195 and still not better? That's a pretty big main for a 450. It might be time to send it to Rob's Dyno. Sometimes it's best to just pay for the solution and he usually has it!!!!

+1 on Rob's Dyno. Did my KTM a couple years ago -- turns out the stock jetting was WAY off. Changed main, needle position, got it running a lot better. Definitely worth the money; it would've taken me a lot of trial and error and probably never would've gotten it right. Plus you get to see what your bike makes for power now, giving you a great baseline if you decide to change anything else.

+1 that sounds really big Mark... I think my CRF is running a 170 and it's got a little bit of work done to it.

Its like 65 For the baseline He just does it and looks at the Sheet and tells you what to put in. He was 100% on the money

I charge one hamburger, and sometimes a beverage to change main jets while you watch.

You have to remove your own tank and plastic.

I was considering being lazy and bringing him my yz and crf just to maximize their performances without me doing any boner trial and error...I like the sound of your program as well

1st a main jet won't affect 1/4 turn throttle. That will be your pilot jet. Does the bike have any motor work done ? A 195 main should be plenty for full throttle. What pipe and air cleaner set up are you running? We built martin hanlons motor ex#194 so we have some good info on the YZ's. e-mail me or call and I'll see if we can help you

Time to buy a Yamaha if you have a bike that needs the tank removed for a jetting change 17mm wrench and a 8mm socket and about 1.5 minutes to get the job done

The bike has a stock motor, stock carb and stock exhaust. The only thing I did was drill some holes in the airbox. Stock air filter as well.
Thanks for the reply, I will send you an email

Kiehn hex main is a 6mm... I'm assuming you use the 8mm for the carb clamps?

Carb clamps are 4mm allen, and I don't touch those. There's a 17mm cap on the bottom of the float bowl, I remove that cap with the 17mm wrench, stick the 8mm socket in there to remove the main jet+holder (the jet holder always seems to come out anyways so that's why I use a 8mm)
