Media center as part of registration. You can buy one outright from Miles at S&C, or he has 'flex' units that are essentially a lease with built in insurance for a bit less. You'll need one eventually so I'd make a point of pricing them out. They tend to go fast when offered up used too BTW.
Friday practice is a 15 minutes session every hour, starting at 10:00 for racers, 5 sessions iirc. How many laps can you do in 15 minutes?
I went to MMI I know what Im doing here chief
Other 45 minutes they are running classes. Penguin runs Advanced, Basics, and Track Experience class as well as race practice on Friday.

This is what I wanted to do in July but there must have been some confusion on my part because I didn't think it was possible. Thouht you had to do your rookie race on Saturday then you could do the practice sessions. If Jim's quote is true then that's what I'll be doing in April or May.

But could you do the Thursday/Friday practice sessions before you did your rookie race?

I don't know what they hell I'm talking about.
Based on rumor, myth and legend, for some reason I believe that you fill out all of the license paperwork before hand (i.e. during the basics course), but that your not officially licensed until after you have competed in the rookie race.
I would imagine you absolutely could but someone correct me if I am wrong.
Usually this is a non issue because you are participating in the penguin school during the practice session but I don't see why you couldn't sign up for racer practice if you are anticipating on racing.
Also I just noticed Jim recommended it so...
Thursday practice - no license needed
Friday practice - unlicensed and novices are in the same group.
so whether you've received your license or just waiting to complete it, you're in the same group for friday practice.
it'll expose you to some of the riders you'll be competing against.
As I said, I know nothing, so assume Jim knows more than me, but... http://www.nhms.com/events/schedule/

Road Course -Participants must hold a racing license from a sanctioning body and conform to all safety regulations set by that sanctioning body. Cost: $150/day or $100/half-day starting at 1 p.m. (plus $10 gate fee).
nope, i stand corrected. thought you didnt need a license, but they may let it slide if you're registered for penguin.
i'm sure they'd let you ride if you completed penguin, and havent done the rookie race yet. Thursday practice gets like 8 riders all day. so they'll take your money.
So does my turkey pan need to come off for tech?
