    Vertical challenge

Anyone interested in forming a NESR team for the Vertical Challenge that Larry was talking about as a fundraiser for the Brain Injury Fund?
I think itd be fun even if I would be passed out by 1030.

    Re: Vertical challenge

An event at Bretton Woods on some day, where the team who skis the most runs top to bottom from 9-4 or something wins. All as a fundraiser for the Brain Injury Fund that Larry Hanlon is a big part of.
I dont have any details right now, but someone over at NEAR is emailing Larry to get some info.

I'm thinking about it. They used to do a 24-hour ski-a-thon that I did a couple times. Lots of fun. Hurts a lot the next day.

I think Larry said January 24th was the date. I'll have to double check that though. I'm definitely in!

Been 3 seasons since I hit the slopes and I'd need to get the board serviced. I'm sure the edges are rusty.

This sounds like it could be dangerous. Sign me up for someone's team. I may be old, but I can ski. Of course I don;t own any skiis, but I can rent them there I'm sure.

    Re: Vertical challenge

Keep me on the list but .. I've been hurt a lot at that mountain. It's too flat so I end up doin' stupid sh ....tuff. I suppose I could be entertaining for others.

At first I was going to say that's a hike for a day trip but if we can do a track day in NJ and drive home for 6 hours afterward I suppose a trip to Mt. Washington and back will be easy.

    It's a vertical challenge, not semi-horizontal.

My comment was Omaha's Blue Hills suggestion. It's not only a short, fun place to ride, but it also has a very small ski area.

    Re: Vertical challenge

Would we have to check in at the top and bottom?
Would we be restricted to a certain route or run?
Would we get line cut passes?
    How much are lift tickets?
Can we get a beer discount for after my team wins?

I know the feeling. Luckily, I still have a lot of friends that work there, so I'll probably bring multiple pair......

I wonder if I can find a pair of DH skis......
