I know the recommended way to clean the carbs is to dissassemble them and douse all the parts with carb cleaner, and then put them back together.
Now since I have little to no experience with taking apart a carb on a motorcycle, I wanted to know if there was a less complicated way.
Would spraying carb cleaner down each of the velocity stacks result in partial cleaning of the carb?
the answer would be a big old NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
so basically suck it up and learn how to take them apart and put them back together.
that answer would be YES !!!!!!!!!!
well there is another alternative.......
Buy a bike with Fuel Injection![]()
Thats the plan for next spring!!!! Dave you going to bike night up in Lowell this week?!?!?
Yeah I was planning on it weather permitting
Ok cool. I'm meeting Hardcore, and Punjastick at Joe's between 5:00-5:30pm. So if you want to ride up we'll be meeting there.
I've heard a gallon or 2 of high octain (112) race fuel does a good job of cleaning deposits, and it'll make your bike smell cool![]()
Yamaha
you could try emptying the float bowls and then filling them with carb cleaner and letting it soak. you might have to do it 2-3 times but if they arent too clogged it might work.
When I start my KTM in the morning, rules are broken. Its inevitable...
