Me again. Just got my tires changed at tricky mikes, my pads are done. So, just wondering what you guys run that won't bankrupt me. I ran Vesrahs on my fzr and regretted it ever since. They had ok bite initially but got worse and worse as time went on. Idk if they glazed or what but i'm talking within a month no initial bite. So I'm not sure if I should just got with the stock Kawi pads or EBC, or what. I really have no experience with bike pads. Any input is appreciated.
I put Galfer pads on my front and rear about 2 months ago and like them. No fade at all.
was advised not to go with the EBC HH for regular street riding. They seem ok so far but I can't wait to get the braided lines too.
I use and recommend the DP brake pads.
For my street bike I use the Sport HH+ pads which have great feel and braking power. I also use the same bike for some track day riding and they work perfect for that also.
For racing I use the race versions which have even better feel and stopping power.

EBC HH pads have been blamed in the past for making squeaking noises when used lightly such as regular street use. The fact is EBC advertises that they redesigned the HH pads to make less noise and lately I have had no recent complaints on EBS HH noise. The new complaint I have had (once so far) is that they wear out faster when used on really fast water buffalo 848s on the track.
I have EBC HH pads as well, I like them. I'll use them again when the current set is shot. And at $31 bucks per caliper they're not expensive.
As for glazing, yanking the lever to the bar when the rotors and pads are cold, isn't that what causes them to glaze over?
I know the EBC HH pads bite a lot better when they are hot.
What ever you get for pads, cleaning up the rotors is a good idea. Bead blast, scotch brite, etc.
I've used the EBC pads on my ZX9R..no noise or glazing problems...
The more people I meet, the more I like my dogs.....
So you guys are all running sintered pads? Should I not bother with the oganic or kevlar pads that some of them make? I keep seeing warnings on in the product descriptions not to use sintered pads on a bike that didn't come with sinteredc pads. Also in terms of vesrah, I think I may have gone with the vesrah organic in the past, not sure though, don't remember.

I use EBC pads, have since I started riding and have not had any real complaints. They're cheap enough and work pretty good. Never had any noise issues or anything. I've been running EBC HH's on the EX @ the track and am as happy with them as one can be with EX500 brakes. I am wearing them pretty quick, but that's because 1) I am a huge vagina and use the brakes too much & 2) it's an EX500 and only really wears one of the 2 pads.
I've run EBC HHs on just about every street mount I've ever used with nothing bad to report?
Heh, well they did last a handful of trackdays (and I mean a LOT of track time) including VIR's both Full and Grand East Courses featuring 160+ mph hard braking areas... so I guess I can't complain!
Whatever you get, grab em from Duncanmoto.... it's worth the trip without an excuse, let alone to pick up some go-fast-bits![]()
I tossed a set of Gafler Green's (organic) on my Rex and love them. 10k miles later and they just are wonderful. Howl a bit on cold mornings, but only when you are nearly stopped.
Feel/modulation is the best I've ever felt out of any pad.

Speaking of EBC HHs... I need to find me a set of EBC FA86HH pads... anyone got some floating loose?
Another vote for EBC HH. I use them on my 05 ZX636

I have a set of brand new pads for an 03 cbr600rr. They are performance friction. Very good pads. I'll sell them cheap if they fit.
I run EBC HH sintered and Tricky mike suggested them to me for my ZX11. Never faded them even with repeated hard braking from triple digit speeds. One finger braking with stainless lines on front.
