loud pop noise under hard acceleration

when i accelerate hard while in 1st or 2cnd gear it sounds like the chain is slipping but i check both the front and rear sprockets and they are not worn at all and chain is not lose at all either, any idea what could be the problem?

How many miles on the chain? Mine started making almost clunky noises when it started to go, but you could tell it was the chain. If you had the bike on a stand and spun the rear tire you would see the kinks starting. Something to check..

Might have a broken engine mounting bolt.

Make sure your rear axle bolt and adjusters are tightened properly.

my friend's bike was doing something similar, might be your problem as well. the master link had worn and stretched slightly, causing only that link to catch a tooth and hop off the rear sprocket a little. the chain tension as a whole was still within spec, only the individual link had stretched.

Take your front sprocket cover off and clean, clean , clean.

You are goig to find a large amount of gummy black stuff with pebbles and other assorted grimey things.

So use plenty of solvents and clean up your drive chain cover and such.

This could quite possibly be something more serious than chain/sprocket problems. You may be looking at transmission gear/dog/engagement problems.
