Tire gauges and compressors (two related questions)

Any good recommendations out there for tire gauges? I've been using a pencil-type gauge, which seems to read consistently and has a dual-direction head (i.e. two, 180-degree opposed connection points on a 45' chuck), which seems to be a pretty good roadside tool. However, I'd rather like to get my hands on a gauge that's (a) easier to read, in 1-lb or 1/2-lb increments, (b) holds the last reading until released, and (c) has a pressure relief valve so I don't have to play the "let air out for a guesstimated time, measure, repeat, go over, add air, repeat all" game. I'm thinking that means an analog gauge, not a digital one, but I'm open to either.

I'd like to keep the price around the $30 mark if possible.

On a related note, I'd also like to be able to top off my tires at home without rolling down to the gas station and paying 75 cents. Are there any reliable options short of buying a full-on air compressor? I'd like to avoid going that expensive, bulky, and heavy unless I'm getting substantial additional use out of the device (i.e. air tools, actually changing tires at home, that sort of thing), and I don't see that happening in the immediate future.

    thanks,
    Kevin

Bike pump. Seriously. Silca is probably the best.
I used to keep one in my track trailer until some thief decided they deserved it more than me at the MotoMkt track day (extra special thanks to that asshole).

Accu-gage. It clips onto the valve so you can add or release air while the gauge is attached.
