    Volcanic Battery

So I do believe that now i have cracked my battery from the winter. It was erupted yesterday when I went to go start it to ride down to the Indigo Girls concert.

They answer to the question, I know, is that I need a new battery. Where do I get one of these? Is it something I can go pick up at my local NAPA *yeah right*, or do I buy it online, try to save some $, or do I go to a dealer? I know dealer is the last option...

    Jankster what say you?

Oh, and I want it soon so I can ride my bike down to the lake this week.

    Volcanic Battery

When my zx6 battery died I found one at walmart

ALONG WITH AN INCREDIBLE DEAL ON PICKLES!

They don't have all sizes, but given that walmarts are conveniently located every 2.5 miles up there, it might be worth swinging in just to check.

AND DON'T FORGET TO PICK UP A FEW JARS OF PICKLES!

    Volcanic Battery

From the sounds of it the battery blew in the bike. Did it spill acid on everything? If it did make a mix of Baking soda about 1/2 box to a gallon of warm water and spay down everywhere that the acid went. If you don't Nuetralize the acid you will end up with alot of corrosion from the acid. When the baking soda mix comes in contact with the acid it will start to foam up. Let it sit a short time (you may be able to help clean it along quicker if you use a brush), rinse and repeat until it no longer foams.....

NAPA sounds like a good idea.
I got my last one from... Um, Geez! I don't remember! Some catalog. It came dry, with a bottle of acid.
You got a charger? Batt may not be charged up...
Baking soda and water is cooool!
Also, I heard a tip. Put petroleum jelly on the terminals to prevent corrosion!

Check my post in http://www.nestreetriders.com/forum/...threadid=10459 about charging batteries. The "petroleum jelly on the terminals to prevent corrosion!" keeps oxygen from getting to the connection. Another thig that you can get and put on is a Oxidation inhibitor "Nolux". You can find it a Home Depot in the electrical section. It's used by electricians to prevent corrosion of aluminum connections. I used it on the battery of my truck that I had a problem with and it works great.
