    Re: What should I do?

    For the oil filter?

Push on the end as you try to rotate. If not, grab a cheapy piston ring compressor from Autozone and use that.....or get an oil filter wrench (NOT the band style)

Referring to the spotting though on the headers. Any concern?

    RMWL?

My first thought was that you are wondering where to safety wire. To the rad support maybe?

[edit] Posted at the same time. Since you're talkin about your headers, see my first answer.

    Re: What should I do?

If the look bothers you: cheap route is scuff and hit w/ header paint. More expensive: ceramic coating. Otherwise i don't think you have anything to worry about.

    Very clean looking F4i btw!

Just ride it.. it'll burn off. Or like everyone else says, scuff it and shoot it with paint

Negative - had it in a heated storage unit from Dec. 1st to March 1st.

Otherwise it is stored outside, with a waterproof cover, under a overhang.
Just don't understand why all of a sudden it looks like this....

    Re: What should I do?

I think you should sell the bike at a VEEERRRYYY low price to someone on NESR....then with the pennies you get from the buyer go out and buy yourself a new bike without header rust!!! Or, like what was said before....RMWL

when the bike is covered outside, moisture still enters the inside of the cover....which then condensates..which get on your headers....and headers+waters = Rust....if that helps the "why" at all

    Re: What should I do?

Scotch Brite pad + Mothers Mag & Aluminum Polish + Paper Towels

apply Mothers to the pad and scrub away for a bit, it will turn real black, then wipe clean with paper towels. repeat a few times the first time you do it.

i used to do this to my Buells SS header pipes about once or twice a season. works great and keeps the tarnish off for a while.
