Ok so as it wasn't bad enough I had to take the bike out in the rain this morning while on 128 the bike brakes down had to push it about a mile to get it off the highway so while waiting for a ride to get a truck a guy from 128 cycles stops to help well we figure out the ignition fuse blew so luckily he had a fuse that fit so I pop it in and she fires right back up I tell him I'm all set he leaves and I put my gear on and bam it happens again. So any one have any ideas why this would happen all of a sudden?its a 99 gsxr 750 I rode all week while it was nice but in the rain today it pops? Any help thanks
You haven't lived life until you've played with a multimeter, a wire diagram and a mysterious electrical gremlin.
Son, it's time for you to start living!
Water's getting in somewhere.
Do you have any mods that involved the cutting and splicing of the main wire harness?
check to see if water is getting into the kick stand switch, noel had that issue before. I bet he would love to tell you all about it.
nothing involving the harness im going to be going over it all when it stops raining.
ok so i checked the wires and found nothing. it doesnt look like theres a spot for there to be a short i havent checked the kickstand switch yet ill do that in a bit any other ideas?
light the bike on fire claim it on insurance and then buy a new bike from gixxerjockey

Long shot here but I have a 97 TL1000 that I had a similar problem on, only popped the fuse when I turned the handlebars pretty far to the right though. Being that your bike is a Suzuki also I figure I'll tell you where my problem was and if you get lucky it might be your problem too.
If you look at the bottom of the ignition cylinder, the wiring exits the bottom of the cylinder and then is cable tied back relatively tightly around a pretty sharp edge of metal. My harness had worn through the insulation on the main power wire but would only short when the bars were turned. Possibly your bike has worn through the insulation of the ignition wire and is popping that fuse instead. If not, sorry to have wasted your time.
Gotta tell you, tearing your bike completely down to the frame, i.e. no bodywork at all, and looking over every inch of your wiring harness in 85 degree direct sunlight after having pushed your bike a mile and a half down A1A in Daytona Beach during bike week (getting ridiculed by harley guys left and right), is a great way to learn were everything runs on your bike.
Good luck with the problem,
Joel
I had a bike do that Before it was water in the turn signal as soon as you Turned the turn signal on it Would blow the fuse

Don't brake so hard.
I would first check to make sure your battery terminals are tight.

Buy a bunch of Fuses and pull the plastics and start messing with the above area's see if it pops..

If you can't find the problem with a meter try a spray bottle full of water in the dark. Pull off all of the fairings and start misting the wires down. If you see sparks you'll know if it is grounding out.
With all the problems you've been having with your bike this makes me

yeah yeah yeah i know i just want to get a little more riding in and if everything goes throught this winter there will be a new motor in her and that statement will be true.
ok narrowed it down to the hids in the bike i took the upper off and un plugged the light and she fired right up took her for a ride like that and no problems so now i have to figure out why they would bloe the ig. fuse. maybe because i never wired a relay in for them? im doing that right now well see if that works
Quick questin for someone does any one know if levers form an 06 gsxr will fit on a 99
yeah i have to compete with dbconz so i rock the hid and leds but i always seem to lose to the chrome lol

eh, I knew it was something stupid.
well finished wiring in the relay for the hids and the bike ran great till it was at about 180degrees then pop there goes the ig fuse again so now its going to go through a complete tear down and will prob stay down till next year.
ok well i fond what again i thinknwas it there was some rubbing through near the forks that exposed a few wires so there all taped up and re ran in another spot now but i thaught it was down for the winter so the body work is off getting painted so i cant take it for a ride yet to make sure that was it.
none are near the hids
