I don't usually do these, but I feel the need to thank a few people... it'll be short-n-sweet.
after making a bunch of changes to the hawk on friday - new rear spring, gearing, mag front rim & cast iron rotor - I missed almost all of saturday practice with mechanical gremlins (spacers, pinched wire... ugh). so I headed into race 9 (ultralight superbike) with a new setup and no useful track time on it. I figured 'F' it I'm just going to run it hard and see what happens. well... that worked out nicely. I ran a solid 3rd after battling with donovan and finished 2nd thanks to a gift from mike (martire - he lowsided out of 12 chasing eric wood). sweeter than the placing was the laptimes. I've been knocking on the door of teens for a while... well I ripped off 5 19's and set a new personal best of 1:19.535
all credit goes to the following:
mike martire (gmd-ny): chassis and suspension setup, and he somehow doesn't mind my constant barrage of questions either
stowe (michelins): they stick
http://www.1023motors.com (mag front & cast iron rotor): killer front setup from great people. if you need a car or bike call them.
I also need to thank Chris Watt, Tony Sooooos, and Mitchell Yoo for helping me find that damn pinched wire and Dr. Berrio for a little preload tweak. best pit-mates ever.
for me this pic is unbelievably sweet:
